Hello,

You are eligible for the Bankroll Builder promotion, good job!

NB: Bookmark this page so that you'll find it easily in the future

First Step

Watch the following video and pay special attention to the tips on retrieving and saving your hand history from PokerStars. This will be important for the rest of your promotional journey.

After wacthing this please play some PLAY MONEY FULL-RING (9-Handed) tables at PokerStars and using the Hand Replayer post a hand here in this thread that you have questions about.

Here is a video on how to use the hand replayer.

Then when you have that done please have a go at the Poker Basic Course and pass the quiz at the end of the course.

So you have 3 steps to do to begin with and when you have all 3 done we will award you with your first bonus.

1) Watch the 'Getting Started' video
2) Post a 'PLAY MONEY' hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer
3) Pass the Poker Basic course.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 steps completed.

Best of Luck!

What can I do with my bet sizing to extract more from my opponents when I hit big on the river?

Hi,
Hand Analysis

As played you did well! Although if there was a bigger stack involved in the pot on the turn I'd asjust my bet sizing to 2/3pot. If we are looking to get a call from the villain as they are sitting with about 12bb on the river I'd bet about a little bit less than half of their stack, it's unlikely the villain has an ace or a ten, they could have been chasing a flush draw or broadway draw, their range could easily be Kx or Qx high.
Very nice hand and pot!

Hope this helps.

Brilliant!

You've done all 3 tasks and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job!

Step Two

Use your first buy-in to only play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables on PokerStars. Do not play any other type of game other than this. Post one hand that you had difficulty with here in this thread using the hand replayer and we will analyze it for you.

Please watch the following video and answer the question below.

List 3 reasons why a player may want to make a big bet?

Then study the Cash Game course and once your happy have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this.

So you have 3 things to do to earn your next bonus.

1) Play the 1/2 cent Real Money tables and post an interesting hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer.

2) Watch the Bet Sizing video and answer the question below it.

3) Study and pass the Cash Game quiz.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 tasks complete and we will award you with your next buy-in.

Best of Luck!

3 Reasons to make a big bet: To put a large amount of pressure on opponents, to increase the size of the pot when you have a monster hand and to push opponents off average holdings with a bluff.

With regards to this hand, I know I raised pre-flop with a very marginal hand (my opponents on this table seemed very tight) but post-flop was this the right spot for an information bet? I put the caller on a middle pair or Ace with rag pre-flop due to her just calling and while I won the hand I'm unsure whether or not this was a good spot for a raise to get information or not?

I have finished studying the course on cash games and passed the quiz.

On a side note, I won the Poker School Open Skill League tournament 752952253 last night, so I'm happy that the lessons so far seem to have already helped my game

Hi,
Hand Analysis

This hand is probably one of the hands at the bottom of my isolation>limper range from early position as there is the possibility of our hand being out kicked by AK AJ behind us with so many players left to act. But none the less it's still very playable and will do well versus a limping range. Keep in mind from here on out whether it be in a tournament, sit and go or cash game, that a limping range is usually perceived as a weak range and/or hand.

Did you have any specific reads on the villains from UTG (under the gun) and MP (middle position) about what range of hands they where willing to get to show down with?

Post flop, we could elect to bet 1/2 or 2/3 pot as a bluff, our line/story will look convincing to the two villains involved in the pot.

This is what the villains see from their perspective:

1.) We raise 4x the big blind pre-flop

2.) Entered the pot from early position, which is an indicator of strength

3.) Continuation bet an A and K high flop

Hope this helps.

Nice pot and well played!

Congratulations on winning an Open Skill League Event! Those have some tough fields!

Kind regards,
CannonLee
