So I was at the Klinkenberg ZOOM table - get ducks and hit a set.

Could I have got them off earlier? Or lost less?

Here is the full hand.

Hi Ed,

You could have gone for a flop check/raise to grow the pot faster, or sized your bets a bit larger on each street, but otherwise it's fine. When you have them crushed you don't want them to make a correct fold, you want them to make incorrect calls. Unfortunately 2 outs isn't drawing dead and he got lucky. On any non A or K river card he's paying you off on the end, and most rivers won't help him. Calling the river shove is the trickiest part, but we are only losing to KK I think and he might do this with more hands than just KK. KJ for sure. Sometimes Kx like AK or KQ (perhaps with the flush draw), sometimes weaker hands that believe you have a hand like AJ and are trying to make you lay it down by using the K as a scare card, and sometimes AA that was waiting for no flush card to come off before raising. So all in all, I think you played it fine, just run better next time.
