The Dog Days of Summer

The August tournament series will be The Dog Days of Summer. The tournament series will run in the PSO Community Club homegame from August 2nd-11th and will include games for both real and play money players.

WHEN and WHERE

All tournaments will be played in the PokerSchoolOnline Community Home Game Club. The games will be held at 12:00, 15:00, 18:00 and 21:00 ET.

POINTS and LEADERBOARDS

All of the games will use a 20% payout and points will be awarded to all ITM finishers only, based on the following chart. These points will count BOTH for the monthly and yearly leaderboards that will be in the News forum:

1st – 100 points
2nd – 70 points
3rd – 60 points
4th – 50 points
5th – 45 points
6th – 40 points
7th – 35 points
8th - 30 points
9th – 25 points
Top 1/3 of the remaining ITM finishers – 20 points
Middle 1/3 of the remaining ITM finishers – 15 points
Bottom 1/3 of the remaining ITM finishers – 10 points

Event 10 for both play money and cash will be a special bounty event.
There will be a 25 leaderboard point bounty on EVERY Team PSO member in the team bounty game, Event 10, on August 4th.

Members can also earn an additional 25 points for blogging about knocking out the team member and including the knockout hand in the replayer in their blog post.
Each member is only eligible for one blog bonus for each cash and play money, regardless of how many team members they knockout.

The title of the blog post must be 'I knocked out a PSO Team Member' and must be done either on the 4th or 5th of August. Blogs that are done after 00:00 ET the 6th will not be eligible for the additional 100 points.
Any points earned for knockouts or blog post about the play money games will count toward the play money leaderboard and any knockouts and blog post about the cash tourney will count for the cash game leaderboard.

Glad there is another series even though wont play too much.
Hope it will be advertised a bit more - I didn't realise Dog Days referred to a tourney series. Also, and more importantly, there is no PLO on current tentative schedule for me, but three PLO H/L. Would love that to change.

Hello Prof,

Hi guys and girls,

Where can I find the schedule? Looked in the club and nothing. Last time real money was in the client and play money in the PSO Community Club homegame?

Do I need another link to follow?

I suppose it's about time for me to make my usual statement and put my neck on the line. This series is mine! Will even be playing the play money this time.. The gauntlet has been thrown down! Who thinks they can beat me?

I'm going to have to miss about 1/2 the games in this one... so good luck.

I'll try and play some of these but the structures are usually too long or me as they run into early hours for WET.

I haven't checked the schedule yet but maybe some hyper tournaments will suit my time zone and work/sleep pattern.

Do we get to win a doggy bone for forum signature if we get first?

The phrase dog days refers to the sultry days of summer. In the Northern Hemisphere, the dog days of summer are most commonly experienced in the months of July and August, which typically observe the warmest summer temperatures

The Old Farmer's Almanac lists the traditional period of the Dog Days as the 40 days beginning July 3rd and ending August 11th, coinciding with the ancient heliacal (at sunrise) rising of the Dog Star, Sirius. These are the days of the year with the least rainfall in the Northern Hemisphere.
