I open 88 UTG short-handed and get 3 bet by villain 2 who is playing 15/9/11.0 so pretty tight and very aggressive when he chooses to play.

My reads on him was that he likes to cold call with AA and KK and 3-bet with JJ, QQ, AK, I have also seen him stack off with overpairs a couple of times.

I decided to call and set mine and fold if I miss the flop (I think I am getting about 15:1 odds to set mine - maybe a little bit less). I figured if I hit my set i could get his whole stack.

When I hit the set I played it agressively due to the flush draw possibilities - what do you think?

Hi EmotiveKiwi,

You have position on the Bb plus you are getting pretty close to your 15:1. In a 3bet pot his range stronger so he'll stack off a little more often. I think the call is good

I like the small reraise on the flop if you call behind he'll check his misses on the turn most likely and fold if you raise so I like raising early here better and he will find it more difficult to fold now than on the turn I think.

Well played.
