Hello
I would like to enlist into this program.

My husband plays poker a lot, and I thought I would try to learn it too. But he doesn't want to teach, me so I am trying to learn how to play this game.

Hello sylvia_nz,

You are eligible for the Bankroll Builder promotion, good job!

NB: Bookmark this page so that you'll find it easily in the future

First Step

Watch the following video and pay special attention to the tips on retrieving and saving your hand history from PokerStars. This will be important for the rest of your promotional journey.

After wacthing this please play some PLAY MONEY FULL-RING (9-Handed) tables at PokerStars and using the Hand Replayer post a hand here in this thread that you have questions about.

Here is a video on how to use the hand replayer.

Then when you have that done please have a go at the Poker Basic Course and pass the quiz at the end of the course.

So you have 3 steps to do to begin with and when you have all 3 done we will award you with your first bonus.

1) Watch the 'Getting Started' video
2) Post a 'PLAY MONEY' hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer
3) Pass the Poker Basic course.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 steps completed.

Best of Luck!

This is a hand I played early in this tournament. I felt that these nines were worth playing with, so I stuck with it all the way.

Hi sylvia_nz

Thanks for posting the hand, but unfortunately it's from a tourney. If you re-read my previous post, you will see that this promotion is for 9-player ring games.

So please post a hand from one of those games and we will take a look at it and provide analysis for you.

I got my husband to load this, because he is a whizz and can figure anything out in seconds.

I think that this completes my first round of (3) tasks.

Thank you for posting this hand for review and I have asked one of the Hand Analysers to take a look at it for you.

He will do this within the next 24 hours and once it's been analysed I will advise on the next step.

Cheers.

Hi Sylvia_nz!

The first thing that I see with this hand is that whenever I sit at a ring table, I always wait for the BB to start playing. Paying extra blinds by posting over and over will be a huge drain to a player's bankroll.

With 78o from the cutoff, I get 4 limps in front of me (yes, the posts count as limps). Since I've already posted the blind, I'll check and hope to see a free flop. If I did raise (which is an option too), I would make a standard raise, which is to 3BB+1BB for each limper. With 4 limps, I would raise to 7BB or 70. I want to keep all of my bets/raises standard, as this helps to keep the opps guessing as to the cards that I'm playing. Players that bet more or less based on their cards are basically turning them face-up to an observant opponent (something that I want to avoid).

I miss the flop and I'm going to check and hope to see a free turn card.

The turn is another miss and I'm going to check here too. If I did bet, I would need to make a standard value bet. Post-flop bets need to be sized based on the size of the pot, number of opps and board texture. With one opp in the hand, I would need to bet 1/2 pot. I cannot bet less than this or I can be giving the opp the correct odds to try to outdraw me.

When I pair the river, here, I would make a value bet and I will make it a standard bet. With one opp, I will bet 1/2 pot or 278 chips.

Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.

Yes, I completed the poker quiz 2 weeks ago. I tried to see if I was able to get my result for it, but I am unsure where to find it.
