Hello,

You are eligible for the Bankroll Builder promotion, good job!

NB: Bookmark this page so that you'll find it easily in the future

First Step

Watch the following video and pay special attention to the tips on retrieving and saving your hand history from PokerStars. This will be important for the rest of your promotional journey.

After wacthing this please play some PLAY MONEY FULL-RING (9-Handed) tables at PokerStars and using the Hand Replayer post a hand here in this thread that you have questions about.

Here is a video on how to use the hand replayer.

Then when you have that done please have a go at the Poker Basic Course and pass the quiz at the end of the course.

So you have 3 steps to do to begin with and when you have all 3 done we will award you with your first bonus.

1) Watch the 'Getting Started' video
2) Post a 'PLAY MONEY' hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer
3) Pass the Poker Basic course.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 steps completed.

Best of Luck!

I had pocket queens and i called all in before the flop i knew it wasnt the smartest call but with pocket queens i had a pretty good chance of winning i would have raised to push people off but someone beat me to it so i risked calling it, if he hadn't of raised what should i have raised to push some off and lower the chances of someone getting a better flop

I have also completed the basic poker test and have done all three steps, i am ready for the next step of the bankroll builder

I would also like to advise you that there is a spelling mistake on question 11 of the basic poker test

Hello EpicShneak,

If we only call the 420 here we will have 556 and the pot will be 930 so we will have ~ 1/2 pot when we see the flop and more importantly we might play against multiple opponents which will reduce the chance for us to win.
QQ is a strong hand here and its at the top of our range. I would elect to go all in here to play an allin pot with only 1 player. Against AA-JJ, AK we have even chance to win the pot.

GL at the tables!

Brilliant!

You've done all 3 tasks and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job!

Step Two

Use your first buy-in to only play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables on PokerStars. Do not play any other type of game other than this. Post one hand that you had difficulty with here in this thread using the hand replayer and we will analyze it for you.

Please watch the following video and answer the question below.

List 3 reasons why a player may want to make a big bet?

Then study the Cash Game course and once your happy have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this.

So you have 3 things to do to earn your next bonus.

1) Play the 1/2 cent Real Money tables and post an interesting hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer.
2) Watch the Bet Sizing video and answer the question below it.
3) Study and pass the Cash Game quiz.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 tasks complete and we will award you with your next buy-in.

Best of Luck!

Hi EpicShneak!

There are several points worth looking at in this hand. Firstly, What are you trying to achieve by 3-betting preflop? Your AJo is not strong enough to be raising primarily for value. And if you are raising for value, we need to protect our hand as well. Your raise is too small to get anyone to fold. Thus, you are building the pot but not improving your situation. Similarily, if you are bluffing, you will need to raise more to induce a fold. 3x the original raise, plus 1x for each caller would be a better 3-bet size. Personally, I would suggest calling since you are in position.

As played, we see a multiway flop with 68c in the pot and you have 75c behind. The mini-bet is usually a sign of a missed flop. Typically this is a poorly executed blocking bet. They hope to bet small and see the next card cheap. Your best line is to either call, keeping the pot under control since you dont have a made hand yet. Or, raise about 50% of the pot. Again, you want to raise enough to get some hands to fold to protect your hand.

Making a mini-raise into such a large pot again does not help you. It only builds the pot in a spot where it is very unclear if you are ahead. You were lucky to catch a card on the river to win this pot - nice! However, either calling the small bets to keep the pot under control, or raising more to force the villain to fold his pocket 3s, as well as forcing the other AJ who you split the pot with to fold.

Keep an eye on your bet sizing this week. Remember to ask yourself "What am I hoping to achieve by betting?"

GL and have fun at the tables!
