Hello,

You are eligible for the Bankroll Builder promotion, good job!

NB: Bookmark this page so that you'll find it easily in the future

First Step

Watch the following video and pay special attention to the tips on retrieving and saving your hand history from PokerStars. This will be important for the rest of your promotional journey.

After wacthing this please play some PLAY MONEY FULL-RING (9-Handed) tables at PokerStars and using the Hand Replayer post a hand here in this thread that you have questions about.

Here is a video on how to use the hand replayer.

Then when you have that done please have a go at the Poker Basic Course and pass the quiz at the end of the course.

So you have 3 steps to do to begin with and when you have all 3 done we will award you with your first bonus.

1) Watch the 'Getting Started' video
2) Post a 'PLAY MONEY' hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer
3) Pass the Poker Basic course.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 steps completed.

Best of Luck!

I decided to push all in before the flop with suited hearts K high. The flop and the turn did not seem to be well for me.

Hello,

Now I completed 3 steps to achieve BankRoll Promotion.

I went over the training sessions, posted a hand played at a Play Money Table ( it was not a good hand by the way) and I had already passed the quiz.

Could you please evaluate and let me know if I am able to get the BankRoll Builder promotion.

Best Regards,

Hi quelqueturk!

With K5s, I get an abnormal raise to 50 in front of me. A standard raise for this opp would have been to 3BB+1BB for each limper (40). With a trash hand, I need to immediately muck this. I only want to be calling raises or 3-betting with premium hands, not anything marginal and definitely not with trash. Just because I have an A or suited cards, does NOT mean that they are playable hands.

A standard 3-bet for me here would be to 3X the previous bet (150 chips). This would NOT pot-commit me (have over 1/3 of my chips in the pot), so I definitely do NOT want to shove. Shoving when not pot-committed and especially with trash hands is a good way to throw away a bankroll... something that I do not want to do.

Patience is a huge key in poker and a trait that winning players must have. They need to be patient and fold their bad hands and wait for better ones.

Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.

Brilliant!

You've done all 3 tasks and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job!

Step Two

Use your first buy-in to only play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables on PokerStars. Do not play any other type of game other than this. Post one hand that you had difficulty with here in this thread using the hand replayer and we will analyze it for you.

Please watch the following video and answer the question below.

List 3 reasons why a player may want to make a big bet?

Then study the Cash Game course and once your happy have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this.

So you have 3 things to do to earn your next bonus.

1) Play the 1/2 cent Real Money tables and post an interesting hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer.
2) Watch the Bet Sizing video and answer the question below it.
3) Study and pass the Cash Game quiz.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 tasks complete and we will award you with your next buy-in.

Best of Luck!

Hi quelqueturk! I'll analyse the hand in post #9.

A9o is a not a great hand, but it's strong enough to open in late position as an attempt to steal the blinds. A standard open would be 3bb. You made it 4bb which is unnecessarily large, but it's not a huge mistake. It's surprising to see 3 villains call this raise. In a multiway pot, I'd generally give up trying to win the pot unless you hit the flop hard. Here, you completely missed, but before you even get a chance to think about making a continuation bet (which would probably not be a good idea with this many opponents), one of the blinds donks out for half pot. He might be doing this with decent draw (maybe a combo straight/flush draw like ) or he could have top pair, two pairs, or even a set. Your hand does not have great chances against any of those hands. Even the draws have good equity against you. I would simply fold to this bet. You tried stealing the blinds, missed the flop and someone else led into you. Just give it up.
As played, you called. This seems to freeze up villain, because he doesn't bet the blank turn. I still think you're in bad shape, so checking behind is best, as you could take a free card and perhaps improve to the best hand. The river comes an ace, so you made top pair. Villain checks again. While it's possible he made a monster with QT, or two pairs with something like AJ, and is going for the check-raise, most of the time he's genuinely giving up with a weak pair or a busted draw. You chose to bet here, but I would just check behind and show it down. It's really "thin" to bet here, because it's hard to get called by worse. You're lucky here that villain made a "curiosity call" and looked you up with a king. Most of the time, I think he's folding hands like K9 and only calling (or even raising) hands that beat your top pair.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Arty

Your second Bankroll Builder bonus is on it's way to you, great job so far.

Watch this video that will help you on the cash game tables

There are three ways in which you can earn your next bonus.

Hello,

There seems to be a problem trying to credit you with your 2nd bonus.

Please send an email to support@pokerschoolonline.com and let them know that you are waiting for your 2nd bonus but it has not come through yet.

Unfortunately moderators here at the school cannot access players accounts so you will have to email support, I can't do it for you
