Dear community,

far from being supersticious, I have a serious problem. When I put my money in as a favourite, I usually do not root for a special card to come, but against the cards that I do not want to see. Say, my opponent needs a king to win, I would go like "No king! No king!". It seems, however, that the poker gods are somewhat hearing impaired: "Huh? A king? Here you go, no need to thank us". I swear, the moment I think of the dreaded card, it appears.
To proof my assumption, I have startes to look away while the cards are being dealt, and though it does not always work, the results seem to be much better.
So, how do you deal with that issue? Root for a brick, root against a card, or simply await your fate?

Rooting for a card, or against a card won't really change the outcome.
I might root if the game is boring and the only excitement comes from an all in moment, but just for the fun not for superstitious reasons.
