Hello hahaharofl,

You are eligible for the Bankroll Builder promotion, good job!

NB: Bookmark this page so that you'll find it easily in the future

First Step

Watch the following video and pay special attention to the tips on retrieving and saving your hand history from PokerStars. This will be important for the rest of your promotional journey.

After wacthing this please play some PLAY MONEY FULL-RING (9-Handed) tables at PokerStars and using the Hand Replayer post a hand here in this thread that you have questions about.

Here is a video on how to use the hand replayer.

Then when you have that done please have a go at the Poker Basic Course and pass the quiz at the end of the course.

So you have 3 steps to do to begin with and when you have all 3 done we will award you with your first bonus.

1) Watch the 'Getting Started' video
2) Post a 'PLAY MONEY' hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer
3) Pass the Poker Basic course.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 steps completed.

Best of Luck!

Hi hahaharofl!

This promotion is only for full ring cash tables and this hand is from a tourney. Once you receive your first bonus, until you finish this promotion, if you play ANY cash tournament, you will be INELIGIBLE for any future bonuses in this promotion. That is because tourneys have totally different strategies from ring games.. and this will become very evident with the analysis of this hand.

With ATo from the CO, I get a limp in front of me. I'm going to make a standard raise, which for this point in a tourney is to 2.2BB+1BB for each limper or 16000. If this was a cash table, then a standard raise would be to 3BB+1BB for each limper, so I would need to raise to 4BB or 20,000. This may seem like a small difference, but the pot size created now is used on every street afterwards for sizing bets, so this difference gets magnified exponentially by the river.

The flop is 3 coordinated unders and when the opp checks to me, if I made a standard raise preflop, then I would make a c-bet on the flop. Bets post-flop need to be sized based on the size of the pot, number of opps and the board texture. With 1 opp, the standard size is 1/2 pot, so I would need to bet 15750.

The turn pairs the board and when the opp checks to me, I'm going to check behind for pot control.

The river gives me two pair and now the opp shoves. The only hand that would even remotely make sense for them to have with the way that they have bet the hand is Tx and I've got a 10 with top kicker. Due to this, I'm calling. If the opp had a 3 or a straight, they should have bet the flop and/or the turn and this opp didn't do either. When something looks fishy, it's normally a bluff and with top two pair, I can definitely beat a bluff. When playing a hand, I want my hand to tell a consistent story throughout, which the opp does not do.

Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.

Brilliant hahaharofl!

You've done all 3 tasks and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job!

Step Two

Use your first buy-in to only play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables on PokerStars. Do not play any other type of game other than this. Post one hand that you had difficulty with here in this thread using the hand replayer and we will analyze it for you.

Please watch the following video and answer the question below.

List 3 reasons why a player may want to make a big bet?

Then study the Cash Game course and once your happy have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this.

So you have 3 things to do to earn your next bonus.

1) Play the 1/2 cent Real Money tables and post an interesting hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer.
2) Watch the Bet Sizing video and answer the question below it.
3) Study and pass the Cash Game quiz.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 tasks complete and we will award you with your next buy-in.

Best of Luck!

Hi John,

1) Sorry, this hand was deleted by its owner

I really wanted to call for some reason, but folded. Was it the right play?

2)
To put pressure on opponents
To give value from very strong hands
To protect against strong draws

3) Done

Thanks

Hi rofl!

I will be your Hand Analyzer for this post

Considering we are OOP and not closing the action and facing an isolation raise from EP, I would personally fold preflop I think. OTT we are getting <3:1 and we have 12 outs (4 Aces + 4 Nines + 3 Kings) or 24% to hit. Although the odds are close I think we should fold since we still don't close the action and we might not have clean outs either because of the spades on board and if villain has a KJ or AJ.

GL at the tables!

Hello hahaharofl,

Fantastic!

Your second Bankroll Builder bonus is on it's way to you, great job so far.

Watch this video that will help you on the cash game tables

There are three ways in which you can earn your next bonus.

1) Earn 10 VPPs AFTER receiving your 2nd bonus and you will automatically be credited with your 3rd bonus. Let us know if you hit that target
2) If you lose your 2nd bonus at the tables please post the hands where you lost the money with here in this thread. As soon as you post the losing hands we will advise on the next step.
3) If you make a first deposit at PokerStars you will automatically be awarded your remaining bonuses from the Bankroll Builder promotion.

Best of luck to you at the tables and we are here to help you should you have any questions.

Hi John,

Just a few questions to ask hope you don't mind

1) Just wondering if this promotion conflicts with "100% First Deposit Bonus"? Let say If I deposit $50 will I get the remaining $4 plus $50 ( need to be cleared of course ) ?

2) Does the 10 VPPs need to be earned from the cash games and cash games only? and if it is the case, does it have to be from the 0.01/0.02 full ring tables?

thanks

Hi hahaharofl!

I'm not 100% sure on item 1, so I'll make sure that raiser sees this ? and responds to it in the morning.

2) You must only play 2NL FULL RING. If you play any cash tourneys or any other type of table, you are INELIGIBLE for any further bonuses.
