Not sure I did too much wrong, maybe I should have found a fold on the river...........

Just ranting as once again lots of good play building stacks gets taken away by idiots playing stupid hands and getting lucky. Story of the last few sessions for me. Never mind, move along, notes taken, on to the next hand, and relax again.

Thank you.

Hi idodgedeuces!

I'm betting 1/2 pot on the flop here. If I bet less and they get there due to me not betting, it's my own fault that I lose the hand.

If I bet 1/2 pot on both the flop and the turn and the opp calls it.. then it's just them getting lucky.

I did think about betting the flop but its pretty dry apart from a flush draw, which I'm not scared of as I hold the ace. I thought he would fold pretty much everything I beat, like smaller pairs, maybe call with worse kings, AA and sets but I don't think he can have that many in a 3bet pot. So if he's folding everything I beat, and not folding hands that are beating me or we're splitting I didn't think betting was the best option. It probably wouldn't have made much difference what I did to be honest as he's more than likely calling with a gutshot on the flop so I don't think I can get away from it whatever line I took.

It was just one of those hands that got to me for some unknown reason, I have been getting better at brushing these kinds of hands off. Maybe its because I called when the fold would have been better. I mean, what am I beating, a worse K, QQ? Does he really shove these on the river? Probably not, so what is he shoving? Have to be thinking of a set (no way I can put him on 45o!!) so I should have folded. Must learn to think for a couple more seconds instead of thinking well, I was gonna shove myself if he checked so I'm gonna call when he shoves. Very different situation.

Thanks for your input, very much appreciated.

Lesson for the day.......THINK!!!!
