Hello GAMES85,

You are eligible for the Bankroll Builder promotion, good job!

NB: Bookmark this page so that you'll find it easily in the future

First Step

Watch the following video and pay special attention to the tips on retrieving and saving your hand history from PokerStars. This will be important for the rest of your promotional journey.

After wacthing this please play some PLAY MONEY FULL-RING (9-Handed) tables at PokerStars and using the Hand Replayer post a hand here in this thread that you have questions about.

Here is a video on how to use the hand replayer.

Then when you have that done please have a go at the Poker Basic Course and pass the quiz at the end of the course.

So you have 3 steps to do to begin with and when you have all 3 done we will award you with your first bonus.

1) Watch the 'Getting Started' video
2) Post a 'PLAY MONEY' hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer
3) Pass the Poker Basic course.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 steps completed.

Best of Luck!

Hi Games85,

I will be your Hand Analyzer for this post

With 4 opponents to the flop, my plan is to check and give up my hand without hitting a set although the flop hits our perceived range yet it might also his our opponents range with so many players in the pot. I think this also applies to the turn which improves our opponents calling range too.

Good thing you managed to take that down

Brilliant!

You've done all 3 tasks and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job!

Step Two

Use your first buy-in to only play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables on PokerStars. Do not play any other type of game other than this. Post one hand that you had difficulty with here in this thread using the hand replayer and we will analyze it for you.

Please watch the following video and answer the question below.

List 3 reasons why a player may want to make a big bet?

Then study the Cash Game course and once your happy have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this.

So you have 3 things to do to earn your next bonus.

1) Play the 1/2 cent Real Money tables and post an interesting hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer.
2) Watch the Bet Sizing video and answer the question below it.
3) Study and pass the Cash Game quiz.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 tasks complete and we will award you with your next buy-in.

Best of Luck!

Hi GAMES85! I'll analyse the hand in post #9.

The first thing to point out is that this is a 6-max table, where the play is loose and aggressive. The PSO beginner courses are designed for full ring tables, where a disciplined and patient style is profitable, so please sit on 9-handed tables for the remainder of this promotion. Nevertheless, I'll take a look at this hand.

With QQ facing a small raise by the player UTG, I like a re-raise (3-bet) and this is already different to how I would play it in a full ring game. In a 9-handed game, an UTG open range is much stronger than a 6-max open, so calling is better, but here you can raise for value and get called by worse. I'd go with 15c, because it's fairly standard to size your re-raises at three times the size of the open. When villain 4-bets to 32c, it's clear he has a real hand of some sort, and on a 6-max table I'd expect him to have AKo, AQs+, JJ+ and is planning to get all in. His most likely hand is AK (16 combinations), but AA and KK (6 combos each) are certainly possible. On a full ring table, QQ is not often a hand you want to get all in with pre-flop, so calling (or even folding!) is probably best, but at 6-max I'm happy to get it in. Instead of just calling the 32c, which is a significant portion of your stack, you could just go all in right now, expecting villain to call and be flipping with you quite often. (Against a range of JJ+, AK, AQs, you have almost exactly 50% equity).
As played, you call and flopped an overpair. This is a great flop for you, and the size of the pot in relation to your remaining stack makes this a good spot to commit. Shipping over villain's bet is standard, just because of the stack to pot ratio. He'll show KK+ sometimes, but he'll also be committed to calling with JJ and AK/AQ, especially if he has a flush draw. Villain had AK this time and couldn't hit, so you dragged a nice pot. Nice hand!

Hope this helps!

Cheers,
Arty

Hi GAMES85,

That's great news! Your third Bankroll Builder bonus has been processed and it will be in your account shortly if not already.

Now to earn your fourth and final bonus, keep applying the principles you have learned at the same tables as before until you have earned a further 10 VPPs, counting from when you receive this latest bonus.

If you lose your bankroll, please post the losing hand(s) for analysis. As ever, if you have any questions we are here for you.
