I've been active for a couple of weeks now, but thought I would formally introduce myself here!

I'm 29 years old (as of 2 days ago!) and I live in Essex, UK. I have played poker for close to 5 years now, both live and online, and massively enjoy the game.

I have enjoyed various degrees of success, but I am wildly inconsistent. At my best I'm unstoppable, at my worst it's pretty shocking! My biggest result online is $3,600 (3rd place in The Big $33 on Pokerstars), and live it would be £1,400 at my local casino for winning a £50+1R tournament. I also enjoyed a fantastic Las Vegas holiday this year, winning nearly $2000 in tournament cashes.

I got into PSO through ArtySmokesPS, though not through him recommending it. It was pretty much an accidental coincidence! I've known him for many years via different pursuits. I saw him regularly posting on facebook about various micro limit results he was getting, and I must be honest, I thought he was wasting his time! Why bother with the microstakes if you are a good player was my thought process here!

It would be months later that I just happened across PSO when I was looking for ways to improve my game, and was amazed to see that Arty was not only an active member but an actual trainer with a great blog! Not only that but there's a whole team of people just like him! And a whole community of active and determined members!

Anyway what this means is I now have a massive respect for microstake poker, and even more respect for anyone who is cracking it. PSO is a ridiculously awesome resource, and I think everyone, no matter what your level, should be regularly getting involved with the community. I have learned so much in such a short space of time, and everyone is so nice to boot!

I hope to become a much more consistent and thoughtful poker player, and I am determined to contribute, as well as absorb everything I see here.

I am currently blogging about my journey from $0 to $4000. I want to get back to Vegas as soon as possible and would love it to be the reward for improving as a poker player.

Thanks for making me feel welcome and I hope to see you on a final table soon!

ROB x

Welcome Rob! Seen you around the forum posting and it's nice to learn a bit more about you. Glad you're enjoying the community atmosphere at PSO, one of the best things about this place I think.

It's good to see you're getting a lot out ouf PSO so far Rob. Building up from zero with freerolls requires a lot of discipline, which can be difficult to maintain, especially if you've had a couple of decent scores before, as it's easy to think of freerolls as "pointless". I hope you can stay focussed and grind your roll up in otder to pay for another trip to Vegas.
In the meantime, I guess you'll have to drag me down to Westcliff casino and show me how to beat the local live game.
