Hello,

You are eligible for the Bankroll Builder promotion, good job!

NB: Bookmark this page so that you'll find it easily in the future

First Step

Watch the following video and pay special attention to the tips on retrieving and saving your hand history from PokerStars. This will be important for the rest of your promotional journey.

After wacthing this please play some PLAY MONEY FULL-RING (9-Handed) tables at PokerStars and using the Hand Replayer post a hand here in this thread that you have questions about.

Here is a video on how to use the hand replayer.

Then when you have that done please have a go at the Poker Basic Course and pass the quiz at the end of the course.

So you have 3 steps to do to begin with and when you have all 3 done we will award you with your first bonus.

1) Watch the 'Getting Started' video
2) Post a 'PLAY MONEY' hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer
3) Pass the Poker Basic course.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 steps completed.

Best of Luck!

Hello,
Sorry for the delay but finally i made all the requirements,
1) I have watched the video
2) Here is my play money hand which i would like to be reviewed

I would like to know if my pre flop play was right, considering that the table was very loose and they would've called with any 2 cards almost any raise pre flop.
3) I have passed the quiz.

Regards and thanks

Hi Byzza87!

With AQo from the cutoff, I get 3 limps in front of me. I'm going to make a standard raise, which is to 3BB+1BB for each limper. With 3 limps, I will raise to 6BB or 60. I don't want to be limping hands like this preflop, as they play much better against less opponents.

I see a 6-way flop that is VERY wet. I have top pair, 2nd kicker with a nut flush and even a royal flush draw. The problem here is, since I limped preflop, I have absolutely no clue whether I'm ahead or not, as someone could easily have two pair, a straight or flush. It checks around to one opp that makes an abnormally small bet. Bets postflop need to be sized based on the pot size, number of opps and board texture. With this many opps, I the standard sizing is a pot-sized bet and due to this, I will make a pot sized raise to 160. I do not want to bet less than this or I can be giving the opps the correct odds to outdraw me (something that I always want to avoid doing whenever possible).

The turn gives me trip aces along with my draws. When it checks to me, with 3 opps in the hand, a standard bet size is 3/4 pot, so I will bet 255. Once again, I do not want to bet less, due to possibly giving the opps the right odds to call. If they are behind and call, I want to make them call a bet where they expect to lose chips on average.

I hit the flush on the river and an opp now makes a larger bet into me. While I don't have the nuts (a full house beats me), since this bet pot-commits me (over 1/3 of my stack into the pot), I'm going to shove the river and hope that none of the opps have a full house.

Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.

Brilliant!

You've done all 3 tasks and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job!

Step Two

Use your first buy-in to only play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables on PokerStars. Do not play any other type of game other than this. Post one hand that you had difficulty with here in this thread using the hand replayer and we will analyze it for you.

Please watch the following video and answer the question below.

List 3 reasons why a player may want to make a big bet?

Then study the Cash Game course and once your happy have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this.

So you have 3 things to do to earn your next bonus.

1) Play the 1/2 cent Real Money tables and post an interesting hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer.
2) Watch the Bet Sizing video and answer the question below it.
3) Study and pass the Cash Game quiz.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 tasks complete and we will award you with your next buy-in.

Best of Luck!

Hello,
I have met all the conditions for the second part of the bonus:
1)
In this hand my reading on the opponent was that in the last 30 mins at the table he called every hand no matter what he had and would take each hand to the showdown even if he had nothing mainly bluffing with large bets on the river.
2) -To bluff people off decent hands
-To gain value from very strong hands
-To protect agains strong draws
3) I have passed the quiz.

I want to apologize for using my last 24 cents from the promotion as i couldn't use them to get on a cash game table, i registered in a 2 cents and 10 cents MTT SNG and i placed 6th in the 10 cents MTT SNG.

Regards

Hi Byzza87!

Given your read on the villain, I think you played this hand fine. Against super loose passive players like this we never want to bluff. Therefore, checking behind preflop was perfect. Take your free flop.

On the flop checking with middle pair weak kicker is fine. When the villain limps preflop then checks the flop, we can normally assume he doesn't have a strong hand. Leading out on the turn is good if you assume he will call with a missed hand. If you think he will fold missed hands here it would be better to check again.

On the river, you get trips. This is strong enough to bet as you did. I am very happy to see you only called the raise rather than 3betting. Trips are strong, but not worth stacking off with, especially when you have a small kicker.

Nice job not overplaying your hand

PS: I am a bit curious what happened to the rest of your stack. Did you lose it in one big hand or slowly over the course of a session?

GL and have fun at the tables!

NOTE: Playing anything other than Full Ring cash games can make you ineligible for the remainder of your Bankroll Builder buy ins. If you are unsufe how to continue in the future, just post here and wait for a mod to advise you.

Fantastic!

Your second Bankroll Builder bonus is on it's way to you, great job so far.

Watch this video that will help you on the cash game tables

There are three ways in which you can earn your next bonus.

1) Earn 10 VPPs AFTER receiving your 2nd bonus and you will automatically be credited with your 3rd bonus. Let us know if you hit that target
2) If you lose your 2nd bonus at the tables please post the hands where you lost the money with here in this thread. As soon as you post the losing hands we will advise on the next step.
3) If you make a first deposit at PokerStars you will automatically be awarded your remaining bonuses from the Bankroll Builder promotion.

Best of luck to you at the tables and we are here to help you should you have any questions.
