Hello madsilverfox,

You are eligible for the Bankroll Builder promotion, good job!

NB: Bookmark this page so that you'll find it easily in the future

First Step

Watch the following video and pay special attention to the tips on retrieving and saving your hand history from PokerStars.

This will be important for the rest of your promotional journey.

After watching this please play some PLAY MONEY FULL-RING (9-Handed) tables at PokerStars and using the Hand Replayer post a

hand here in this thread that you have questions about.

Here is a video on how to use the hand replayer.

Then when you have that done please have a go at the Poker

Basic Course
and pass the quiz at the end of the course.

So you have 3 steps to do to begin with and when you have all 3 done we will award you with your first bonus.

1) Watch the 'Getting Started' video
2) Post a 'PLAY MONEY' hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer
3) Pass the Poker Basic course.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 steps completed.

Best of Luck!

Hi madsilverfox,

Thank you for posting this hand for review and I have asked one of the Hand Analysers to take a look at it for you.

He will do this within the next 24 hours and once it's been analysed I will advise on the next step.

Cheers!

Hi madsilverfox,

I think you played the hand fairly well. The call preflop is marginal, I might be more inclined to call OTB so as not to risk getting raised when there are 3 more players left to act. But still, I don't mind the preflop over limp so much considering the pot odds. OTF I think we can take a more aggressive approach by raising had the board not contain two spades because our outs are tainted and people will continue with FDs so we have less fold equity in my opinion if we raise this flop. I might be reluctant to call the big bet though, but we have an OESD + a backdoor flush draw but we need to be careful when we proceed if a spade fills our straight. Here OTT, I might consider continuing if a club came instead but folding now with little odds to improve is the correct line imo.

Hi madsilverfox,

I'm sorry that some poker jargon has you scratching your head, here's a useful page that explains many:

http://www.pokerschoolonline.com/articles/Glossary

OESD = Open Ended Straight Draw. Between your 2 cards and the ones on the table you have 4 consecutive cards and just need one more, at either end of the 4, to make a 5-card straight.

Straight Draw = includes the above case but also a single-ended draw, for example A234, where you need a 5.

Great to hear about your cash in the tourney, well done! Now just let me know when you have that quiz pass and I can award you your bonus and we can move to the next step.

Hi madsilverfox,

No I'm sorry there isn't. That feature is necessary to avoid any "working" of the system via multiple attempts at the quizzes.

Well done!

You've done all 3 tasks and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job!

Step Two

Use your first buy-in to only play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables on PokerStars. Do not play any other type of game other than this. Post one hand that you had difficulty with here in this thread using the hand replayer and we will analyze it for you.

Please watch the following video and answer the question below.

List 3 reasons why a player may want to make a big bet?

Then study the Cash Game course and once your happy have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this.

So you have 3 things to do to earn your next bonus.

1) Play the 1/2 cent Real Money tables and post an interesting hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer.
2) Watch the Bet Sizing video and answer the question below it.
3) Study and pass the Cash Game quiz.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 tasks complete and we will award you with your next buy-in.

Best of Luck!

I really wasnt comfortable in this hand, following the code I should have folded, but I ended up chasing as it was cheap enough to do so, probably not a good play in long term though?

This hand followed, very dissapointed!

Then this shortly after, very proud of this, the guy to my right didnt seem to put a foot wrong up to that point!

A player should make a big bet to
a) weed out the weak hands from entering the flop,
b) Build the pot, esp if holding a strong hand or monster hand
c) To win the pot by putting pressure on opponent or bluffing that you hold a stronger hand
d) To protect your hand from being outdrawn, on wet flops
