Hi,

Hand Analysis

Our stack depth has a lot of maneuverability both preflop and post flop. Generally a limping range is perceived as a weak range of holdings and with one limper ahead of us, this hand is certainly playable on the button for the standard sizing of 3x the big blind +1bb to isolate the limper as you will have a positional advantage post flop.

Post flop, we flop really solid, top pair plus the nut flush draw. But even though we have a low kicker card the sheer fact that our overall equity versus some weak second pair holdings or other random pocket pairs makes us a huge favorite. It's going to be difficult for the villain to have a range of Ax, as we hold a blocker to some of the possible combos they may have. So raising this flop may fold out their entire range, bluffs and legitimate made hands. Without any specific reads about this villains tendencies and known showdown ranges, I'd be keen to just call the villains bet as opposed to raising for value, this will in turn open up their stabbing range on future streets whether it be on the turn or river.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,
CannonLee

Excellent!

You've done all 3 tasks and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job!

Step Two

Use your first buy-in to only play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables on PokerStars. Do not play any other type of game other than this. Post one hand that you had difficulty with here in this thread using the hand replayer and we will analyze it for you.
Please watch the following video and answer the question below.

List 3 reasons why a player may want to make a big bet?

Then study the Cash Game Course and once your happy have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this.

So you have 3 things to do to earn your next bonus.

1) Play the 1/2 cent Real Money tables and post an interesting hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer.
2) Watch the Bet Sizing video and answer the question below it.
3) Study and pass the Cash Game quiz.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 tasks completed and we will award you with your next buy-in.

Please note: The normal turn-around time for a response is 24 hours.

The moderators are spread out all over the world, so may or may not be on your time zone.

Best of Luck!

Hi,

Hand Analysis

This hand is certainly strong enough to be opening for the standard raise amount of 3x the big blind plus 1bb for each limper. Our stack depth has a lot of post flop maneuverability and there is a good chance that we will have positional advantage post flop if the CO and BTN fold. Did you have any specific reads about this opponents tendencies? Without reads I may strongly consider folding this hand pre-flop, usually a 3bet range from the small blind position is going to be tight and strong, AJs AQ AK 99 TT JJ KK QQ AA, only three of these hands we are in a coin flip situation with and the rest have us dominated.

Post flop, this is a really dry board texture and wont really hit a decent 3bet/calling range, there are no credible draws that we could be representing here and top pair may have called one street..this is looking at the situation from the villains point of view... There are going to more hands in their 3bet range that are willing to call off our all in on the flop as opposed to if they cold called..1.) They have the initiative in the pot 2.) 3bets tend to be a much stronger range from the small blind especially when re-raising a middle position open. We can only expect to get action from the top their range although AK AQ AJ are the only hands that we can really fold out.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,
CannonLee
