What do you prefer to do - just call, or shove or 3Bet?

Hey akselerons

Out of the three options we have I would definitely pick shoving all in
With a 17 big blind stack I think that if we were to 3bet and then fold if villain 4bets us we would be making an enormous mistake and with a hand like pocket 8's I'm not thrilled about 3betting with the intention of calling a 4bet because this gives villain the chance to 4bet hands like QJs etc where as if we just 3bet all in preflop villain will be forced to fold these hands and we will scoop a nice pot.

If we were to jut call villains raise I feel that would also be a big leak. Not only would we be forced to play the hand out of position but we will be forced to play the hand out of position with just a 17 big blind stack which is only inviting lots of difficult spots.

Cheers, Chris.
