Hello

I have been intending for some time to go for some volume SNG playing.

Last year I had some success with 180man turbos but Now I have not been having the bankroll for them.

After my score in the last BB I decided maybe it was time, but 2 things made me reconsider my game choice:
a) My time available is sporadic (work, family, other interests) so it is difficult to build up any volume in the 180mans
b) The BB was the longest tournament I had ever played in my life (almost 6 hours) as I am a turbo guy so I fancied some shorter gaames.

I had not played STT for ages (well maybe a couple) so why not try them out.

I decided not to make this a public challenge immediately as I did not know how well I would like them.

After a few games I decided to do it.

so:
* 100 9man $1.50 turbos
* target of over 40% ROI
* no time limits on challenge, as I cannot be sure of free time, but these are short so should not be a problem to finish the 100 during the Golden SNG promotion.

if things go well, I might extend the challenge to 250 games before the end of the month. This will give me Silverstar

I plan to play few other games during this, except the league games

OK

After 3 days (I might add another session late today though):

I played 2 regular speed Knockout games by mistake before I changed mu lobby filters. I am counting these but not sure if HEM is taking bounties into account. I will check that later.

Games played: 30
Total buyin: $45
Prizes: $66.59
Profit: $21.59
ROI: 48.0%
ITM: 14/30 = 46.7%

finishes in the turbos:
3rd: 3 x $2.37 = $7.11
2nd: 1 x $3.56 = $3.56
1st: 8 x $5.95 = $47.60

finishes in the 2 KO games:
2nd: 1 x $2.91
1st: 1 x $5.41

so far so good, I'd say

minor corrections:

HEM says I won $2.91 for second place in one of the KOs, but according to Pokerstar's email I also received 3 bounties $0.27 each giving me a total of $3.72
HEM says I won $5.41 for winning the other KO, but Pokerstars says I won $4.87 for 1st place + 7 bounties for a total of $4.87+$1.98 = $6.85

Maybe I'll just add 2 games to the challenge and not include the KOs

I played one session tonight.
This time I played 10 tables (up to now I had only been 4-tabling or 6-tabling)
This might have affected my game a bit as the ROI for the session was only 10.9%

this sessions info:
10 games
ROI 10.9%
ITM 4/10 = 40%
profit: $1.64
two first places, two 3rd places

total for the challenge (I am only counting the $1.50 9man Turbos, the knockouts do not count):
38 games
ROI: 31.4%
ITM: 42.1%
profit: $17.91

finishes:
3rd: 5
2nd: 1
1st: 10

I also found out that is is very difficult to multi-table these games at the same time I am playing league games. I am afraid I have lost some points.

HEM doesn't include the KO bounties (at the 1.50 level at least). It's a constant annoyance, even though I rarely seem to win them, but you can manually edit your results to make your graph look pretty.

good point.

I've decide not to include the KO games in this challenge, but I might do a series of these later.

Thanks.

Yes I like the ITM, but thought I could achieve a higher ROI but that was based on my first games where I was not multi-tabling so it was not really realistic.

I am also very pleased at my 1st/2nd ratio. Out of the 17 games where I reached heads-up I got 1st place in 15.
This is because I play to win and am not afraid to abuse the bubble so when I reach heads up I often have a big stack. At the end of this challenge I plan to to review the endgames but I have a feeling the regulars in these games just are not very good heads-up. Makes sense, because if they were any good, they probably would have moved up by now.

It was a great bonus to get a golden one and super great to win it. 893% ROI for that game!

Another good mini-session.
I only played 2 games this time because I was playing the open league and wanted to make sure to secure my second top400 placing in a row. The last time I played many SNGs while playing league I lost a truckload of points lol.

ITM in both games, one 3rd and one 1st.

Games: 81
ROI: 33.6%
ITM: 39,5%
$W: 40.85

Thanks!

Regretfully I played the next 3 games badly last night; only one second place so a small loss.

Games: 84
ROI: 31.7%
ITM: 39,3%
$W: $39.91

16 games to go.
