Is it possible for PSO or Pokerstars to check on the chat that takes place during live training?

During the prelude to tonights live training someone had typed 'just a ***** on the bus' which is pretty close to hate speech it has to be said. Now, I didnt catch the context before the chat was reset when the session was started again, but it seemed likely that it wasnt meant as a joke.

I'd be interested to know if this chat is monitored?

Hello bhoylegend,

Yes, we certainly can look back on this and will do so for tonight's class.

Insulting other members is not acceptable and we won't tolerate it in any way.

Please also remember that if we take any disciplinary action against any member we won't be posting about it in the forum, that's between the member and the moderation team.

We will look into it though and thank you for bringing it to our attention

Cheers,
Raiser

Hi bhoy,

Like Paul said, yes we can review chat from the live training. The training tool saves a log of all chat on the trainers hard drive, so it's always available for review, and if there is inappropriate chat that requires warnings or bannings, we will address that if the trainer hasn't already (which he would not have this incident since it happened before the class started). I would be the one primarily responsible for such a review as it applies to live training, so if you ever see anything you feel needs reporting like this, please don't hesitate to send me an email: Dave@mypokerschoolonline.com with the details. It's helpful to note the class clock time (upper left hand corner of the classroom, counts down in red before class and counts up in green after class starts), so I can quickly identify in the chat log. The class chat isn't monitored beyond the trainer who is running the class, so if something happens you feel needs to be looked at and the trainer doesn't address it, or it happens before or after class, please do let me know.

I happened to be present when this incident occurred and for the chat just prior. He was definitely trying to be funny, not insult anyone. It was not funny, and several members (including myself) told him so. Personally I find bigotry to be very distasteful, even in jest. And it is certainly not welcomed in our live training classrooms. Given that the member was only making a joke, and I think got the message that it was neither funny nor welcomed, I feel that no further action is necessary at this time. If it happens again however, there will be disciplinary action taken.

Regards,
Dave
