Hey Pullin,

looks pretty standard... i'd lean more towards a bet/fold or check/fold on the river depending on what stats I have on the villain. My thing is if i'm willing to check/call off a given amount I should be the one putting the money into the pot and be the one applying pressure to the villain. If i'm not willing to commit to pressuring the villain then I've decided that I have already lost the hand and should just let it go and move on to the next one.

It would be nice to have some info on villain.

Like the others say - you should value bet the river and fold to any resistance.

unfortunately no useful info on villain - this was zoom poker and this was the first encounter with him.

I checked the river thinking that I couldn't be called by worse since the Ks on the turn didn't scare him nor did a potential completed flush (although I am still learning about the called by worse part). Then, I thought it may allow him to bet with weaker holdings, and so I called.

I was thinking that the best line on the river would either be X/F or X/C (although if I think that I couldn't be called by worse then I think I should have X/F).

Can anyone explain why my explanation above may not the best line?

I actually thought that he may have had the flush. If I had reads on villain then I could have taken a more informed decision.

Hi pullin,

I agree with the others. And river is a bet/fold because blind v blind he is going to be calling us down lighter in general. Hands like A4, 55, 22, 54s, A3 are all likely to check behind us and show down, but will probably pay off a modest river value bet. I would go about half the pot here, and if we get raised it's a pretty easy fold without reads, we'll be up against 57s or a slow played hand mostly.

As played I would always call this river bet sizing, it looks like we might be giving up and this opens him up to possible bluffs with a single spade or maybe value bets with hands like 77.
