Hello VaporMohawk,

You are eligible for the Bankroll Builder promotion, good job!

NB: Bookmark this page so that you'll find it easily in the future

First Step

Watch the following video and pay special attention to the tips on retrieving and saving your hand history from PokerStars. This will be important for the rest of your promotional journey.

After watching this please play some PLAY MONEY FULL-RING (9-Handed) tables at PokerStars and using the Hand Replayer post a hand here in this thread that you have questions about.

Here is a video on how to use the hand replayer.

Then when you have that done please have a go at the Poker Basic Course and pass the quiz at the end of the course.

So you have 3 steps to do to begin with and when you have all 3 done we will award you with your first bonus.

1) Watch the 'Getting Started' video
2) Post a 'PLAY MONEY' hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer
3) Pass the Poker Basic course.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 steps completed.

Best of Luck!

Hi VaporMohawk!

With JJ (or any other hand I'm going to raise with), I'm going to make a standard raise, which is to 3BB+1BB for each limper. With 2 limpers, I will raise to 50. I want to keep all of my bets and raises standard, as this helps to conceal the strength of my hand. Players that bet more with better hands and less with marginal ones are basically turning their cards face-up to an observant opponent... something that I need to avoid.

I then get a shove and a 2 calls of it. Here is where I need a read on the opps. If the opps are extremely tight, then I need to muck my JJ. If the opps are extremely loose, then I will re-shove to try and isolate the initial player that shoved.

I don't want to call for two reasons. First, calling this is well over 1/3 of my chips, which means that I'm pot-committed and cannot fold. Secondly, I need to make the opp pay to see a card that beats me. If they have an overcard, I want them to pay the extra few chips before they see that they hit the flop.

Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.

Hi VaporMohawk,

I'm glad you find the hand analysis helpful. I wanted to award you with your first bonus, however I don't see your Poker Basic pass in our system here. It might be a glitch but I suggest you take the quiz again and then hopefully I'll see your pass from this end. If you encounter any issues please let me know.

Hi VaporMohawk,

Well it shows ok now, so guess it was a delay in the admin system - sorry about that. So good news...

Brilliant!

You've done all 3 tasks and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job!

Step Two

Use your first buy-in to only play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables on PokerStars. Do not play any other type of game other than this. Post one hand that you had difficulty with here in this thread using the hand replayer and we will analyze it for you.

Please watch the following video and answer the question below.

List 3 reasons why a player may want to make a big bet?

Then study the Cash Game course and once your happy have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this.

So you have 3 things to do to earn your next bonus.

1) Play the 1/2 cent Real Money tables and post an interesting hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer.
2) Watch the Bet Sizing video and answer the question below it.
3) Study and pass the Cash Game quiz.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 tasks complete and we will award you with your next buy-in.

Best of Luck!

Hi VaporMohawk!

Before we look at your hand, one important message. You are playing 6-Max. Please play only Full Ring 9-Man) tables for the duration of the bankroll builder promotion. Playing anything else will make you ineligible for any remaining buyins! Also, full ring is a better format for learning the fundamentals.

Medium pocket pairs can be tricky since scary overcards tend to come on the flop. Here you are facing an utg raise from a deep stacked player who also has position on you. This is not a great situation, but your hand is strong enough to see the flop and hope to flop a set.

You flop two suited and connected overcards. This is not good for you at all. You should normally fold to a c-bet in this spot. Checking as you did was perfect. The villain checks the turn again. Now it seems likely that he does not have a hand.

Betting on the river is fine. However, ask yourself WHY are you betting? Based on the villain's play, you are probably ahead. Therefore, you are betting for value. In other words, you want to get called. I think it more likely that the villain would call a smaller bet about 30%-50% of the pot here. He might call with many Ax hands or pocket pairs. By betting larger, you made it hard for the villian to call with weak hands.

You played this hand nicely. Pocket pairs are good starting hands, but we need to flop a set before we can hope to bet every street. When facing overcards, caution is the best approach.

GL and have fun at the tables!

First of all im sorry i didnt know the meaning of full ring.I will play at 9 players tables from now on.

Thanks for ur advices on the hand replay,as u said i realised that my bettin on the river was wrong, bcs even he had AJ hes gona call.I did a very wrong value betting there.I sit on and played at real Money tables before i passed the cash game course,i think that was a big mistake, cash game course very helpful to improve my poker, but i was excited about the bonus and jumped on the tables

Anyways thnks for ur help,cheers

Hello VaporMohawk,

Fantastic!

Your second Bankroll Builder bonus is on it's way to you, great job so far.

Watch this video that will help you on the cash game tables

There are three ways in which you can earn your next bonus.

1) Earn 10 VPPs AFTER receiving your 2nd bonus and you will automatically be credited with your 3rd bonus. Let us know if you hit that target
2) If you lose your 2nd bonus at the tables please post the hands where you lost the money with here in this thread. As soon as you post the losing hands we will advise on the next step.
3) If you make a first deposit at PokerStars you will automatically be awarded your remaining bonuses from the Bankroll Builder promotion.

Best of luck to you at the tables and we are here to help you should you have any questions.
