Hello Ralenzi,

You are eligible for the Bankroll Builder promotion, good job!

NB: Bookmark this page so that you'll find it easily in the future

First Step

Watch the following video and pay special attention to the tips on retrieving and saving your hand history from PokerStars. This will be important for the rest of your promotional journey.

After watching this please play some PLAY MONEY FULL-RING (9-Handed) tables at PokerStars and using the Hand Replayer post a hand here in this thread that you have questions about.

Here is a video on how to use the hand replayer.

Then when you have that done please have a go at the Poker Basic Course and pass the quiz at the end of the course.

So you have 3 steps to do to begin with and when you have all 3 done we will award you with your first bonus.

1) Watch the 'Getting Started' video
2) Post a 'PLAY MONEY' hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer
3) Pass the Poker Basic course.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 steps completed.

Best of Luck!

Hi Ralenzi!

In the first hand, I see one thing before the hand even starts. When playing a ring table, I always wait for the BB to start playing. Paying extra blinds over and over is a huge drain to a player's bankroll.
With KJ from the cutoff, when I get 2 limpers in front of me, I'm going to make a standard raise which is to 3BB+1BB for each limper. Due to this, I will raise to 10.

I see a 4-way flop where I hit top pair/marginal kicker and an opp makes a huge overbet. Bets postflop should be sized based on the size of the pot, number of opps and board texture. With 3 opps in the hand, a standard bet is 3/4 pot. Here is where I need a read on the opp. If the opp is tight, then I'm probably outkicked and need to fold. If the opp is loose, then I will call and re-evaluate on the turn.

The turn completes the flush draw and is an overcard. I'm going to check and call the abnormally small bet of 2 chips. If the opp made a sizable bet, then I would need to fold to it.

When the 4th diamond hits on the river, I need to check and hope to get to showdown. Either of the opps could have a diamond, so I don't want to make a bet since I may not be ahead.
--------------------------------
With AJ from the BB, I get a raise and a 3-bet and two calls of it. While I do have a hand with potential, with multiple raises in front of me, I need to muck. If I had AK, then I'd call, but lower hands are not strong enough since I'm out of position.
-----------------------------
From UTG, K8o is nowhere near a strong enough hand to raise with, so I need to muck this preflop. When playing from early position, I only want to play premium hands. If I had AK or KK, then I would make a standard raise to 3BB+1BB for each limper, but all other hands with a K are too weak and need to be mucked.
It is nowhere near strong enough to call a raise with.

Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.

John (JWK24)

P.S. Please let me know when you pass the quiz.

Hi Ralenzi!

Our records do not show that you have passed the basics quiz. Please let me know when you do, as it's a mandatory step that is needed, in order to proceed to the next step.
