Hey there,

Ace King is a powerful starting hand and looks great preflop. Unfortunately post-flop it might not be just as good and many players find it hard to get away from, tough to fold it right?

In microstakes cash games premimum hands are often overplayed and we can loose a chunk of change with them.

Check out this Poker Bite video all about 'How to Play Ace King' with tips from Tyler Frost, Felix Schnediers and Randy Lew:

I found it helpful and you might too

Quit focusing on results and focus on decisions!

Are you really satisfied with your play on this hand? Did you have a strong read on your opponent?

Did you buy-in short? If so, why? Playing a short stack in ring games is more difficult than playing a full buy-in.

Why the shove pre-flop, wouldn't it have been better to call and see the flop and then re-evaluate the strenght of your hand?

Like Joe said don't focus on the results of a single hand. Forget that your opponent had a 3 here, he would have still have won the hand even if he was holding pocket 7's.
