Hi,

You are eligible for the Bankroll Builder promotion, good job!
NB: Bookmark this page so that you'll find it easily in the future

First Step

Watch the following video and pay special attention to the tips on retrieving and saving your hand history from PokerStars. This will be important for the rest of your promotional journey.

After wacthing this please play some PLAY MONEY FULL-RING (9-Handed) tables at PokerStars and using the Hand Replayer post a hand here in this thread that you have questions about.
Here is a video on how to use the hand replayer.

Then when you have that done please have a go at the Poker Basics Course and pass the quiz at the end of the course.
So you have 3 steps to do to begin with and when you have all 3 done we will award you with your first bonus.

1) Watch the 'Getting Started' video
2) Post a 'PLAY MONEY' hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer
3) Pass the Poker Basic course.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 steps completed.

Best of Luck!

Thank you for posting this hand for review and I have asked one of the Hand Analysers to take a look at it for you.

He will do this within the next 24 hours and once it's been analysed I will advise on the next step.

Cheers.

Hi,

Hand Analysis

Sitting on a 25bb stack depth on the button we can certainly still try to raise and isolate one of the limpers. Our stack does offer some post flop maneuverability without getting to comitted in certain situations were there is a possibilty that we are beat. Generally a limping range is perceived as a weak range of holdings and our hand will play fairly well versus V8 and V9's loose range.

Post flop, we have just over a pot sized remaining and the villains leading range could be weighted towards some inside straight draw combos such as Qx Tx and quite possibly some flush combos. Keep in mind that there are going to be 16 combos of each of these hands A2 A3 A4 A5 A6 A7 A8 A9 AT AJ AQ AK and villains that limped could possibly also have these holdings. As you can see we are in a dilemma to either call or fold given the over card on board, as if we are to raise we will only get action from hands that may beat us such as Ax or not really know were we stand on later streets if our raise is called ... leading us to feel gun shy to put bets in without specific reads.

A good rule of thumb when deciding to raise an opponents bet is to make a sizing of 3x the villains bet. (given that we have a deep enough stack, if not, then make sizings that can set up the stack to pot ratio appropriately).

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,
CannonLee

Excellent!

You've done all 3 tasks and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job!

Step Two

Use your first buy-in to only play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables on PokerStars. Do not play any other type of game other than this. Post one hand that you had difficulty with here in this thread using the hand replayer and we will analyze it for you.
Please watch the following video and answer the question below.

List 3 reasons why a player may want to make a big bet?

Then study the Cash Game Course and once your happy have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this.

So you have 3 things to do to earn your next bonus.

1) Play the 1/2 cent Real Money tables and post an interesting hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer.
2) Watch the Bet Sizing video and answer the question below it.
3) Study and pass the Cash Game quiz.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 tasks completed and we will award you with your next buy-in.

Best of Luck!

I passed the Cash Game Course.

Three reasons to place a big bet:

1 To put a lot of pressure on opponents
2 To gain value from very strong hands
3 To protect against strong draws

Hi,

Hand Analysis

This isn't a hand I would be entering the pot with from this position, even on a 50bb stack which is playable in terms of post flop maneuverability, especially when facing an isolation raise. Villains tend to not isolate with a wide range, they're usualy doing it with a solid starting hand (unless our reads dicate otherwise). With so many players left to act behind us it increases the liklihood of a better range of Ax being present AK AQ AJ AT A9 A8 A6 A5 all have us outkicked, let's also factor in premium pocket pairs AA KK QQ JJ TT.

Given the nature of this being a multi way pot, I'd proceed with caution on all three streets post flop, we have only 4 outs to improve our hand as we have to discount all of our outs that contain a heart as it may give a villain a flush. With our minimal equity in the pot, I'd check to control the size of the pot, save bets for a better value spot and fold to any bets made by the villains. Lead betting for any amount is only going to accomplish one thing, we'll only get action from hands that beat us or hands that have much more drawing potential.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,
CannonLee
