Hello,

You are eligible for the Bankroll Builder promotion, good job!

NB: Bookmark this page so that you'll find it easily in the future

First Step

Watch the following video and pay special attention to the tips on retrieving and saving your hand history from PokerStars. This will be important for the rest of your promotional journey.

After wacthing this please play some PLAY MONEY FULL-RING (9-Handed) tables at PokerStars and using the Hand Replayer post a hand here in this thread that you have questions about.

Here is a video on how to use the hand replayer.

Then when you have that done please have a go at the Poker Basic Course and pass the quiz at the end of the course.

So you have 3 steps to do to begin with and when you have all 3 done we will award you with your first bonus.

1) Watch the 'Getting Started' video
2) Post a 'PLAY MONEY' hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer
3) Pass the Poker Basic course.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 steps completed.

Best of Luck!

Hi meetkumar!

This is not from a ring table. This promotion is ONLY for FULL RING cash tables. Once you receive your first bonus, if you play any other format of game other than 2NL FULL RING, you will be INELIGIBLE for all future bonuses in this promotion. Even one cash tourney or sng will make you INELIGIBLE.

With QQ from the button, I get a limp, then a smaller than normal raise (in a cash game, a standard raise here would be to 3BB+1BB for each limper, but in a tourney at this blind level, 2.5BB+1BB for each limper is standard). I need to make a 3-bet here and to size it, I will make it standard, which is to between 3X the previous bet (2700) and a pot-sized raise (2775). I do not want to raise to more nor less than this. Players that make larger bets with better hands and lower ones with marginal ones are basically turning their cards face-up to an observant opponent... something that I absolutely need to avoid doing.

When the opp shoves, I'm absolutely calling with a premium made hand (QQ+). Yes, it will lose a given % of the time, but it is a +EV play to call the shove.

Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.

Freerolls are fine

Brilliant!

You've done all 3 tasks and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job!

Step Two

Use your first buy-in to only play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables on PokerStars. Do not play any other type of game other than this. Post one hand that you had difficulty with here in this thread using the hand replayer and we will analyze it for you.

Please watch the following video and answer the question below.

List 3 reasons why a player may want to make a big bet?

Then study the Cash Game course and once your happy have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this.

So you have 3 things to do to earn your next bonus.

1) Play the 1/2 cent Real Money tables and post an interesting hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer.
2) Watch the Bet Sizing video and answer the question below it.
3) Study and pass the Cash Game quiz.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 tasks complete and we will award you with your next buy-in.

Best of Luck!

hi i have passed the cash quiz

the reasons why a person makes a huge bet are

1) to put a lot of pressure on the opponents
2)to bluff people of decent hands
3) to gain value from very strong hands
4) to protect against strong draws

i have also posted a hand from cash game

Hi meetkumar!

Betsizing is the theme in this hand.

Preflop you get two limpers, then you mini-raise to 4c. Ask yourself what are you hoping to achieve with this raise. Are you raising for value? If so, you need to bet more, preferably 3bb plus 1 bb for each limper. This would be for value and for protection by limiting the number of players in the hand. Or are you raising as a semi-bluff? If so, again you should raise more. In puts pressure on the other opponents to fold making it harder for them to call. Your bet acheives nothing good for you. It simply bloats the pot.

As played, I would fold to the 3bet. If your hand was suited you could call, but unsuited will be hard to play post flop. Too often you will be up against AK or AQ.

Postflop, again your bet was too small compared to the pot size. Folding to the raise was good.

In general, always bet for a reason and size your bet accordingly.

GL and have fun at the tables!

Fantastic!

Your second Bankroll Builder bonus is on it's way to you, great job so far.

Watch this video that will help you on the cash game tables

There are three ways in which you can earn your next bonus.

1) Earn 10 VPPs AFTER receiving your 2nd bonus and you will automatically be credited with your 3rd bonus. Let us know if you hit that target
2) If you lose your 2nd bonus at the tables please post the hands where you lost the money with here in this thread. As soon as you post the losing hands we will advise on the next step.
3) If you make a first deposit at PokerStars you will automatically be awarded your remaining bonuses from the Bankroll Builder promotion.

Best of luck to you at the tables and we are here to help you should you have any questions.

Hi Kalyan,
Hand#1: A bit of a loose open, but its okay to open SCs from EP/MP once in a while to mix it up a little just don’t make it a habit to start opening all your SCs and marginal hands from early positions.
Flop: I size it slightly bigger. The turn is a bit tricky, because when the villain just calls the flop I’m thinking they could have a hand like 8x, diamond draw, gutshot+overs, or some PP like 99-77, they could also have a weak T. The Ad now either improves them to a hand that beat us with a flush or it might be a scare card for the hands that we beat, but I think there are some hands also that improve to a FD like 99 with a 9 of diamond or a hand like 8x9d or QJ with a diamond so here I think I would bet ½ pot OTT and fold to a raise. I think the river bet is pretty thin tbh, maybe x/c river is a better line to induce a bluff from the hands that fold to a bet because I find it hard for 8x, 99 to call and there are few Ax hands in their range that can call especially when the Ad is on board.
Hand#2: Again, bet bigger OTF, no need to reraise here. Just call their raise. I don’t want to stack off just yet. Bet turn bigger, atleast ½ pot
Hand#3: When I call a raise with 66, my intention is to set mine. I don’t like how you lead this flop vs the PFR and you are OOP. I would call the raise preflop, and check-fold when I don’t hit my set.

Brilliant,

Your Bankroll Builder progress is moving along nicely and you will receive your 3rd bonus later today!

Step Three

Now we really want you to up your game! Your challenge is to earn 10 VPPs after getting today's buy-in.

Note that any VPPs that you have earned up to this point won't count, only those earned AFTER you get your 3rd buy-in.

When you hit your target of 10 VPPs we will award you with your final Bankroll Builder bonus. Let us know when you reach the target.

Also, if you make a deposit at this stage we will also award you with your final bonus.

Best of Luck at the tables and let us know as soon as you have earned the 10 VPPs or if you make a deposit.
