Hello,

You are eligible for the Bankroll Builder promotion, good job!

NB: Bookmark this page so that you'll find it easily in the future

First Step

Watch the following video and pay special attention to the tips on retrieving and saving your hand history from PokerStars. This will be important for the rest of your promotional journey.

After wacthing this please play some PLAY MONEY FULL-RING (9-Handed) tables at PokerStars and using the Hand Replayer post a hand here in this thread that you have questions about.

Here is a video on how to use the hand replayer.

Then when you have that done please have a go at the Poker Basic Course and pass the quiz at the end of the course.

So you have 3 steps to do to begin with and when you have all 3 done we will award you with your first bonus.

1) Watch the 'Getting Started' video
2) Post a 'PLAY MONEY' hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer
3) Pass the Poker Basic course.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 steps completed.

Best of Luck!

In this hand i started off with 2,2 and since i had a low buy in i thought to call the raise in the preflop and continued to raise after i got the Q,Q and 2,2 pair and won with the full house. Was it the right move to bet big early on or should i have folded?

Hello. For some reason the getting started video would not load, but through following the bankroll builder faq i learned to use the hand replayer and posted my hand. If there is another way to watch that video kindly direct me to that. I'am currently working on passing the poker basic course.

Thank you for posting this hand for review and I have asked one of the Hand Analysers to take a look at it for you.

He will do this within the next 24 hours and once it's been analysed I will advise on the next step.

Cheers.

Hi sabih1992!

With 22 in the SB, I get 3 limps then an abnormally large raise to 66. A standard raise for this opp would be to 3BB+1BB for each limper or 12 chips.

I need to fold 22 in this spot and here's why.

First, I cannot call to try and setmine, as to setmine, I need to have 15X the bet in both my stack and the opp's stacks. I don't have that many chips, so calling is not an option.

I also do not want to shove here, as 22, while it is a pair, is marginal-at-best. Any card that the opp has that pairs will beat me, so this is not a good option either.

Therefore, the only option left is to fold and I will do so and wait for a better spot.

If I did see the flop with chips left (which would never happen as I need to shove or fold preflop), I cannot bet this flop as there are 3 coordinated overcards and I should be behind here almost everytime. I want to be putting my chips into the pot when I'm ahead, not when I'm behind.

Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.

Hello. I have answered 11 questions of the poker basic quiz correctly but it says that i have still failed because it is only 69% but 11 out of 15 equals to 73% therefore i should have passed. Is this a fault or do i have to take the quiz again?

Brilliant!

You've done all 3 tasks and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job!

Step Two

Use your first buy-in to only play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables on PokerStars. Do not play any other type of game other than this. Post one hand that you had difficulty with here in this thread using the hand replayer and we will analyze it for you.

Please watch the following video and answer the question below.

List 3 reasons why a player may want to make a big bet?

Then study the Cash Game course and once your happy have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this.

So you have 3 things to do to earn your next bonus.

1) Play the 1/2 cent Real Money tables and post an interesting hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer.
2) Watch the Bet Sizing video and answer the question below it.
3) Study and pass the Cash Game quiz.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 tasks complete and we will award you with your next buy-in.

Best of Luck!

First reason to bet big is to be able to bluff. 2nd reason is to get value from my made hands and 3rd reason is to put pressure on my opponents.

Hi,

Hand Analysis

Sitting on about 50bb we could consider entering the pot with this hand, but ultimately we should be basing our coursee of action on what the villains dynamic is,...did you have any reads on them? I'd be looking to flop some equity with this hand to a pair+straight draw as there are several combos of Tx AT KT QT TT Jx AJ KJ QJ Qx AQ KQ etc.. that have us beat.

Post flop, It's tough to get awat from top pair, I would have prepared to check call atleast one street to re-evealuate my course of action on the turn (I'd maybe fold the turn if the villain bet big and I had reads of their post flop tendencies)..betting into the villains is only going to accomplish a few things (we'll either get called or raised by hands that beat us) so let's just take a pot control line with the hopes that the villain is barrelling hands such as AK AQ AJ (16combos of each of these hands).

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,
CannonLee

Your second Bankroll Builder bonus is on it's way to you, great job so far.

Watch this video that will help you on the cash game tables

There are three ways in which you can earn your next bonus.
