Just seen the dates/venue for Edinburgh UKIPT next month - 16th - 20th Jan.

Great venue - the recently refurbished Assembly Rooms in George Street. Big chandeliers and huge mirrors either end for the infinity effect. (IF they have the Ballroom)

Don't quote me on this - not officially announced yet.

Satellites are set up from today in Events/More/UKIPT on pokerstars lobby

Would so love to play in this since I could easily get the train through. Bit beyond my bankroll though so not holding my breath just yet.

I'm following the PokerStars Blogs and Twitter news Ed.

Did you venture anywhere near it? Seems like there was a good turn out.

Ciaran Heaney eliminated in eighth place (£11,060)
It didn't take long for the first exit of the final table, just five minutes in fact.

So much for the 'Luck of the Irish' ... still a nice payout from an online qualifier though

Just met Liv

sigh

And Liv's mom

sigh sigh

both younger than me and both way out of my league

(good gene pool obviously though)

Both very pleasant nice people.

Could not stand the tension of the HU game - so went back to my local.

Sorry to see Liv did not take it down - but an excellent performance.

Come back next year Liv - this tourney needs to grow.

Cheers

Ed

Down to earth? Really? Daddy bought me a pony!

Different worlds.

I know what you mean though - despite the obvious advantages of being born into the landed gentry ( or whatever )- you can only be as smart and successful as Liv when you put your mind to it.

I am a huge fan of Liv - and see her as a good person and a seriously good poker player.

Likewise for Victoria Coren - [Mitchell] - another great female UK player. She needs to be getting up for this game.

I hope they will open the way for more UK female poker players from a wider spectrum of backgrounds.

Would have been great if Liv won it - but a privilege to have met her and watched her play.

Anybody in Scotland - vote for independence.

Then this becomes an EPT instead of s UKIPT

FREEDOM!

Been thinking of an acronym if Scotland was independent and failed.

Ireland has independence with the 'I' in UKIPT and I suppose Wales doesn't count as they don't host a venue. So the UK+ tour is now, ENG IRE SCO PT - a bit long winded.

Not sure if Scotland will go full Euro coinage continental EPT style.

So now we could be stuck with EISPT. Though we could make some allowances for Scotland as the western most point of Europe's EPT includes the PCA.
