Please post a NLHE Play Money hand for review here in this thread using the Hand Replayer only (see instructions above)

This is an important step, we cannot award you any bonuses until you do this

He will do this within the next 24 hours and once it's been analysed I will advise on the next step.

Cheers.

Hi DocBoogie!

Let's walk through this hand. You have A4o. You are in the bb. And, there's a table full of limpers already in the pot. A4o is not a premium hand, but it does have some postflop potential. The important point is that if you flop an A and encounter resistance, you will often lose a big pot to a vilain with an A but better kicker than yours. Now, what are you hoping to achieve by raising preflop?

Are you betting for value? A4o isnt strong enough for a value bet. Moreover, if you were to bet for value, we should bet more. Or are you betting as a semi-bluff? If so, you are facing 6 opponents. A miniraise encourages people to call not fold. If you are bluffing, you want them to fold and would need to raise much more. A standard bet size would be 3 bbs plus 1 bb for each limper so 90 chips here. Min-raising just builds the pot in a bad situation where you are oop and have a marginal hand. Dont do it Here it goes around and around making a huge pot with a table full of opponents.

You get a monotone flop and are drawing to a flush with your 4. This is unlikely to be the nuts. This is a dangerous spot for you. The A on the turn might help you, but you may be out kicked or already behind to a straight or a flush. This is not a good spot to be betting/raising big. I prefer to keep the pot under control and try to check the hand to the river.

You end up winning the pot which is great. However, as a general rule. Be careful about overplaying marginal hands like this. Try to be patient. Wait for good hands and good postflop spots

GL and have fun at the tables!

Excellent!

You've done all 3 tasks and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job!

Step Two

Use your first buy-in to only play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables on PokerStars. Do not play any other type of game other than this. Post one hand that you had difficulty with here in this thread using the hand replayer and we will analyze it for you.
Please watch the following video and answer the question below.

List 3 reasons why a player may want to make a big bet?

Then study the Cash Game Course and once your happy have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this.

So you have 3 things to do to earn your next bonus.

1) Play the 1/2 cent Real Money tables and post an interesting hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer.
2) Watch the Bet Sizing video and answer the question below it.
3) Study and pass the Cash Game quiz.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 tasks completed and we will award you with your next buy-in.

Best of Luck!

Hello!

I've completed all the tasks assigned to me again. I passed the quiz.
Answer to the question - why a player may want to make a big bet?:
1. to put a lot of pressure on opponents
2. to bluff people off decent hands
3. to get value from very strong hands

Here is my interesting hand replay. I realize I didn't bet correctly in the first round of the flop, but I did try to correct that mistake with the all-in that happened because I was very sure of my hand. However, you will see what happens.

I hope this will suffice, and please let me know what i could've done better to win that hand. Thank you!

Hi,

Hand Analysis

On this stack depth holding the present nuts (best possible hand) on the flop, I'd prefer checking to induce one of the villain to bet with the intentions of raising them or calling to keep their entire range in the pot, this type of board texture is sure to hit one of the villains range with their Ax starting hand combos. As played we have to get it on the flop with the nuts, it's a perfect opportunity to double our stack, unfortunate outcome to this hand.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,
CannonLee
