Ranged LAG UTG+1 (100/0/1 over 20 samples at my table) to have at least a Q after he called the flop bet, felt certain I was ahead on the Turn, even 3-way. Is this spewy?

To your question. YES!

An old poker adage: If you can't raise, don't call.

According to the gap theory, it takes a stronger hand to call than to raise. When you call there's only one way to win, show the best hand.

Hi IBNash!

Playing bad hands out of the SB is one of the largest leaks (spews) in poker. Being out of position postflop, even against a loose/passive opp, is not a situation that I want to be in with a trash hand. I'm mucking this preflop every single time, especially to a raise.

When in the SB, I want to be 3-betting in order to try to lower the number of opps in the hand, I don't want to be calling raises into a multi-way pot. When I call a raise in the SB, I need to be ready to lead basically any flop and with a junk hand like Q2o, I'm not betting the flop.

If I saw the flop, I absolutely need to make a standard value bet here and with 2 opps, I need to bet 2/3 pot or 233 chips. This is basically about the best flop Q2 can have and due to this, I cannot check. If I was going to check, then I need to fold preflop.. which is the best decision.

The turn gives me two pair and once again, I need to make a 2/3 pot value bet of 433. I cannot bet less than this or I can be giving the opp the correct odds to outdraw me. By betting less, I'm giving an opp with a spade draw the right odds to stay and if I get rivered by the flush, it's my own fault that I lose the hand. When the opp shoves, with as loose as they are and a number of draws available, I'm calling with two pair.

The key here though is to muck bad hands in the SB preflop when facing a raise.

Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.
