Once again it cost me my stack on the river playing against a show of strength on the river. Is this an easy fold or should I just stop beating myself up over these spots.

Villian is 51/18/2 over 218 hands.

He goes to showdown 25(20/80) won at showdown 60(12/20)

I have only moved up to 16nl in the last 3 days and the 7 hands I have posted here have prevented me showing a profit at this level. I was thinking it was variance at work. Or could I easily have saved some money in theses spots.

Don't minraise BvB as it gives the SB too good odds to call IP.

I'd also bet bigger OTF & OTT vs a fish.

I also think 3b shoving the river is overplaying our hand, and I would just call the river raise.

Hi tony,

Personally, I always min-raise from the SB as a default, because I steal a lot, but if I find the BB is taking the flop liberally and not 3-betting much then I increase my SB open sizing. 51/18/2 seems like he's doing just that, so I would raise bigger pre like birdayy. I also agree with birdayy on all other points... size bigger OTF and OTT, and when we get raised but on the river I think shoving is marginal, and maybe too thin. I wouldn't be too surprised if this villain raised a naked ace then stacked it off, but that also means they had to call the flop with just ace high as well. I think we are going to run into A7, 77, AK a fair bit here. Since I think he is capable of having the naked ace enough for us to call his raise I'd do that, but shoving may be too optimistic.

He had A7o. I'm back on a upswing. I was only 2 buy ins off from moving down a level. So hopefully it's onward and upward. 25nl here I come lol.

Thanks ever so much for the input guys.Really appreciate it.
