I saw Felix was doing a 80 to 8000 grind it up challenge, I thought this looked like fun so I thought I would try.

I can't really do it for real money for several reasons.
1) I am in the U.S. so the site I play for real money doesn't support tracking software, I want to open a carbon account. I just have to get a gift card as I don't want to give any real account info over the internet.

2) the other sites don't have the game selection that stars has

3) I don't know that I would feel comfortable having thousands of dollars on the other sites.

But no fear I am doing one for play chips grinding it up from 1000 to 1,000,000 I have done this before and it only took just over a month. This is just for fun but some U.S. players that can only really play for play money might enjoy it and want to follow.

I have done day one and am up 14,972 chips in just 514 hsnds.

I will post a short 15 minute or less video on you tube after each day I play. here is the first one.

Good Luck with your challenge.

But why u dont wanna play on Carboon poker? I' played once there and the software perference are good, also the trafic...there are a lot of players in the cash games. And if u think that your money cant be safe there u can always make some small cashouts whenever u have a good ,profit so u wont worry abt that

I see your name in the Live Training chat all the time when watching vids from the library - wow, that's some ROI you've got there from the play money tables lol

Do you play at your local casino like some of the other Americans, MoxiePip, RockerguyAA, etc?

I do want to play at Carbon poker. I plan on opening a real money account there. I just have to go and get a gift card, I don't want to give my personal account information to them at this time, but I will get a gift visa card and open an account soon, I just haven't gotten around to go and get one.

Yes Sam, I play a tournament at my local casino about once a month. The buy ins at the casinos are a bit steep for me right now. The cheapest tournament they have is 35-15-10.. so about $60 a tournament. The cheapest cash game is $1-$3 nlhe. so that is a min buy in of $100 and max of $300. the min might even be $150 that is just too much money for me to risk losing at one time. The one thing I don't want to do is play beyond my means.

Day 3, I won zero play chips but don't worry I will win ten times that much on day 4

The real amount for day 3 is I am up to 44,157.00 in play chips. I might start multi tabling now that I have a bit of a cushion.

I don't know if I will play at all over the weekend, but if I do I will post the results.

I hope everybody has a very nice weekend!

Good luck with your challenge.

Is there a market for trading Play Chips for US players? It may be a way to remunerate you for your hard work. Pokerstars now sell Play Money Chips a bit like Zynga. I've a mate who would never put real money at the tables but told me he spent £50 on Zynga Chips.

Play Money is SOOOOOOO frustrating. At least you'll have the mental game sorted when US Players come back online

I don't know anything about trading or selling play chips. I would feel guilty selling play chips for real money. Before they started selling play chips I used to just give them away.

Play money can be frustrating sometimes when you keep getting draw out with big hands in multi way pots but it is also very easy to beat. Once you get up to the 100,000 buy in level the play money games get better. Now that they started selling play chips you get some crazy players even at that level, but it used to be a decent level for play chips when everybody had to work for them.

I don't consider it hard work. I play mostly for the challenge and the experience, Most of the time I find poker a good way to relax. Even when I have losing sessions as long as I didn't make too many huge mistakes and after reviewing those sessions and seeing and learning from the mistakes I did make, I still feel a sense of accomplishment.

Guess I was wondering because Moxie was saying the same thing about not feeling to comf about leaving money on any of the online sites that he's actually able to play on, but he does play live.

Except ya, the starting limits at casinos are always so high - yikes! Although he said the tables by his house were pretty soft, with lots of casuals, drunk people, etc ... think he called them the 'mouth breathers' or something like that? lol

He used to do play money challenges to tho, and said the quality of play was comparable to the real money games ...

Hopefully they're getting closer to setting up poker in the US ... that would be so good for poker to have a bigger global market ...

yeah leaving money on any of the other sites is kinda iffy. They may even be U.S. sites, I know harrah's and other casinos wanted a piece of the online action but they didn't have the software to compete.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear that the poker sites available to U.S. players now wasn't run by our government.

you know the bill that banned the other sites was passed on the back of another bill right? they got it passed without anybody really knowing what they were approving. Our Government is corrupt in my opinion, and I think its time we all called them out on it.

I am actually ashamed to say I am an American!

sorry for the rant, I guess I am just tired of being treated like a mushroom!

Day 4 results, I didn't play very much. I played a little on Friday night and then a short session on Saturday. I went out Sat. night so I wasn't feeling like playing at all on Sunday lol..

I am up to 47,770.0 I don't know if I will play today at all, I am still feeling tired from my drinking on Saturday night. Hopefully I will get back into it tonight or tomorrow.

I've got my PM stack up around 800K - looking to pass the million soon as.

I've been playing some 6-Max but mostly the ZOOM Heads Up 5/10 tables.

Good luck with your challenge - I enjoyed your videos.

Nice to see players trying to play their best at these tables. Having a challenge and reviewing & sharing your game is a good way to get the best out of these games.

We just need PStars to open up the market in these chips - if they can sell them why can't we?

Or - if not - perhaps they can open some PokerStars bars where we can get beer credits for PM?

way to go Edin,800k is nothing to sneeze at. playing your best is hard to do at these tables I don't know if there is a market for play chips, I would never buy them! I did send a suggestion to pokerstars to see if they could either give away play chip tickets, or allow pso to give away either play chip prizes or tickets if you either attend a class or win a play chip pso event.I thought it was a good way to keep the U.S. market interested while we wait out this stupid government decision. I haven't heard back from them!

I was kind of drunk when I replied to trusty sams message, but I guess the truth comes out when you drink, I am pretty disappointed in our government for black friday and I can't help wonder what they had to gain by it. I really didn't mean to say I was ashamed to be american so much as I just get a little sensitive when it comes to what our government says we can or can't do.

P.s. I edited my response to sams message so you can't go back and read it but it was half true

Day 5 results, I am up to 51,199 not running all that good, trying to play post flop but they are making it impossible with the range of hands they are shoving. I am also trying to make the youtube videos shorter.

Day 8 results 74,436 chips. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_d77G0vdaAA

I was without a computer for a couple weeks, I had some trouble with my touchpad. I was going to just buy a external mouse but a friend of mine said he could replace the touchpad so I gave it to him and it took a lot longer than he said it would to get my computer back.
