Brilliant!

You've passed the basic test and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job!

Step Two

The Poker Basics test was easy right? Well, there's a lot more to learn on the road to becoming a profitable poker player.

Now study the Cash Game course and once you think you have it mastered have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this.

Let us know as soon as you have passed the Cash Game Quiz and we will award you with your next buy-in.

Best of Luck!

Great Job!

You passed the Cash Game Quiz and so you've shown that you have a great understanding of the fundamentals of playing poker. We have now credited your account with your 2nd bonus.

Step Three

Please play a 1/2 cent Real Money table at PokerStars and, using the Hand Replayer, post a hand here in this thread that you have questions about.

Here is a video on how to use the hand replayer.

NB: You must post a Cash Game hand only, tournament hands do not count for this promotion. You must use the Hand Replayer only to post your hand, we cannot accept hands posted in any other way.

Once you post your hand one of our Trainers will analyse it for you so please post an interesting hand where you have questions. Give as much information about the hand as possible, for example, had you any reads on your opponents?

Guy was just tossing allins preflop, I waited for a nice hand and with pocket 88 called his allin and had more luck than brains

Hi dusanmil87!

Firstly, and most importantly, only play tables where ALL nine seats are actually filled! Playing with so many empty seats will force you to play many more hands than when at a full table. Playing a wider range of hands will get you into more unclear/difficult spots post flop. In the Holdem Lobby on Pokerstars, there is a Filter. I set this to only show tables with 8 players. That way, when I sit down, the table is at its full nine

Now let's look at the hand. You have a decent hand with 88. You are facing an opponent that you have a read on. Good job paying attention to the other's at the table This is an important part of the game. This villain likes to move all in preflop. How does your hand hold up against his shoving range?

If the villain is shoving 100% of his hands, you have about 70% equity.
If the villain is shoving 50% of his hands, you have about 60% equity.
If the villain is shoving 25% of his hands, you have about 52% equity, or nearing a cointoss.
If the villain is shoving any two overcards, you are actually a slight underdog.

The villian probably isnt shoving every single hand. Thus, calling the all in means you are flipping for your whole stack. I would want a stronger pocket pair to call in this spot in order to reduce the number of possible overcards. 88 is nearly the middle of the deck. So there are a lot of possible overcard combos.

Moreover, since your bankroll is very limited at the moment, I strongly suggest avoiding preflop all in spots like this unless you have KK or AA. Your bankroll can't withstand the variance involved with this situation.

Nice flop though
