Brilliant!

You've passed the basic test and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job!

Step Two

The Poker Basics test was easy right? Well, there's a lot more to learn on the road to becoming a profitable poker player.

Now study the Cash Game course and once you think you have it mastered have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this.

Let us know as soon as you have passed the Cash Game Quiz and we will award you with your next buy-in.

Best of Luck!

He will do this within the next 24 hours and once it's been analysed I will advise on the next step.

Hi RJ.D1100,

This is a hand that I think we are okay with calling preflop and defending our BB with however we need to think about lines when we don't flop atleast a pair because more often than not we will miss the flop and face a cbet OOP. So I think to determine the best course of action preflop ie 3betting or calling totally depends on our opponent's tendancies; sometimes we can even just fold if our opponent is very tight.

So forexample, if we are against a loose and aggressive opponent who will open raise a wide range and bet flops and turns a high percentage of the time then probably its best to 3bet this hand preflop and try to win the hand without seeing a flop because we are OOP.

Same goes for postflop. Our villain's tendencies should tell us how to play this hand. Because we are OOP it will be hard for us to maneuver the hand and the villain has both position and initiative. But it's also a mistake I think to just call preflop and play fit or fold. So sometimes we can take x/r lines with SDs, FDs, Gutshots + backdoor FDs, etc. This flop forexample gives us a backdoor flush, straight, and two overs. And it's a flop that will miss us both so if the villain has a high cbet we can elect to x/r and hope to win the pot right away. If they do happen to call we can continue betting on hearts, King, and Jack where we pick up some raw equity and on T, Q, and A for some fold equity and backdoor equity. If our opponent however is more on the passive side and only cbets with a made hand then we are better off just folding to their bet OTF. I don't like calling here, its a reverse float with just King high. As played, river is a clear bet for value. nh!
