A quick bet size question.

Made a squeeze bet from the c/o KQs on a zoom table with no reads.

1) Would you bet bigger or the same amount - get folds
2) Smaller bet for more value in position - get calls
3) Call and play the flop in a 3 way pot - ???

Hi ForrestFive!

Without reads, I'm not sure I would be 3betting this spot against two early position players. You are most likely facing Ax or pocket pairs, and the possibility of facing AK or AQ is very real. KQs can make for a good squeezing hand, but I would want reads/fold to 3b stats before doing it here. I would also want to know something about the three players left to act. If someone is 4b happy we are going to have a problem.

If you are going to 3b though, the best result is that both opps fold. I would make it a standard 3x the original raise plus 1x for the caller. So, $3. We don't wan to bet small and induce light calls.

Since you are readless (we should still be getting reads on Zoom, nr of tables, regs, fish etc), you have position and you have a hand that can play well post flop multiway, I prefer to call and reevaluate on the flop.

GL!

Thanks Roland,

A bigger squeeze bet was my first thought.

I was up to $2.75, I actually want at call from just hopefully one of the opponents involved + obviously excluding any potential action behind me so getting folds from them.

UTG should be strongish but I don't normally play at these stakes and guess any suited Ace / high kicker King, pocket pair and broad-ways are raising and the over call is speculative.

So I reduced my bet size but still got folds and think I actually lost value. Probably $1.95 would have been enough to exclude action behind and include those involved.

Don't have a hud that works on zoom and didn't look in the lobby. But even if the action behind me is 4bet happy and with reads I still can't call in this spot.

Thinking, flat calling is a party invitation with free food and snacks that I have to pay for later.

What tracking software do you use?

If you aren't using a HUD, you should be doing a lot of note-taking a la Sandtrap.

I'd squeeze KQo and AJo etc and call KQs.

KQs plays too well mulitway IP to squeeze.

Your sizing is way too small also. At least 4x the raise is standard (ie $3)

Note taking while playing Zoom is way beyond my ability. Need to stop now.

Honestly by 25nl you should probably invest in HM2 or PT4.

I find the easiest way to take notes it to pause all my tables (just one click in upper left of any table to pause them all). I do this on pretty much every showdown and make a note on how the villain played. In addition, you can check lobby for nr of tables. Small stack size is normally not a reg as well.

Alt. after a session use the instand HH to review hands and make notes. This extra effort pays for itself many times over. You are reviewing your own play (and learning). You are gaining info on villains helping with future hands. Win - win for you.
