Brilliant!

You've passed the basic test and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job!

Step Two

The Poker Basics test was easy right? Well, there's a lot more to learn on the road to becoming a profitable poker player.

Now study the Cash Game course and once you think you have it mastered have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this.

Let us know as soon as you have passed the Cash Game Quiz and we will award you with your next buy-in.

Best of Luck!

Great Job!

You passed the Cash Game Quiz and know you've shown that you have a great understanding of the fundementals of playing poker. We have now credited your account with your 2nd bonus.

Step Three

Please play a 1/2 cent Real Money table at PokerStars and using the Hand Replayer post a hand here in this thread that you have questions about.

Here is a video on how to use the hand replayer.

NB: You must post a Cash Game hand only, tournament hands do not count for this promotion. You must use the Hand Replayer only to post your hand, we cannot accept hands posted in any other way.

Once you post your hand one of our Trainers will analyze it for you so please post and intersesting hand where you have questions. Give as much information about the hand as possible, for example, had you any reads on your opponents?

hi,
here is one of my today's hand. Table was tight, nobody was extremely aggresive. I was on the button with 7 2. Usually I'm folding this type of hands but only one player limped in. So I decided to play and possibly to hit the flop and to use my position.
After the flop I had middle pair. Others could have bigger pair, flush draw or even allready straight. None of them raised so I put 4c into the pot to see where am I with my middle pair. SB and BB folded - good for me as they could have anything, one player called.
2 came on turn. Good card for me as I was quite sure that I have best hand at that moment. Player before me decided to raise 2c , I re-raised to 10c and he called.
K came on the river. Player checked, so probably busted flush or straight. I decided to bet 20c and he folded.
So questions: was my play good after the flop? What was that 2c bet on turn about? In which cases (bet sizes) should I fold this hand? I know one - if somebody raised before the flop.

Hi,

Hand Analysis

Keep in mind that a limping range is perceived as a weak range of holdings, and a hand like this will be well behind most of the villains middle to early position limping range. This is one of the hands I'd elect to fold about 99% of the time pre-flop, the times that we do connect with the board whether it be a pair or marginal draw... given most board textures and players perceived hands ranges we wont fair to well against from an equity standpoint and we'll feel gun shy to put any bets into the pot with out two pairs or better.

Post flop, the turn raise has a lot of merit as there are plenty of draws present and some of the villains Tx that they may have slow played are now in trouble. As played you did very well when the hand improved. Please only play decent to strong starting hands, there is a saying in poker "most post flop mistakes are made pre-flop" meaning good starting hand selection, also when you elect to enter the pot, do so for a raise when the action hasn't been opened... it'll help give you the intitiative post flop.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,
CannonLee
