Hi guys,

I made this play because i hate getting in multi way flops with JJ in big 3 bet pots when you know your getting called and get a flop of like AQ4 and not know whether to cbet or just check/fold.

Thoughts on the shuv?

Hi ads!

With JJ on the button, I get a min-raise and a call. I've got 2 options here. Since the stacks are deep enough, I can call and try to setmine OR I can make a standard 3-bet to 150 (pot-sized raise). I absolutely hate shoving here because by making a large overbet, it totally value-owns me. I will fold out everything worse than my JJ and get called by only better hands. The only time that I want to shove is when the standard bet that I would make, pot-commits me. If a standard bet does not pot-commit me, then shoving will only accomplish one thing.. to get me value-owned.

If I see a flop with one over and it checks to me, then I'll c-bet. If I get a flop with two overs, then I'll play it like I have a small pair and check/fold.

Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.
