Hi Guys and Girls,

To run alongside the Formula One 2014 season I'm inviting all of you to take part in my Whacky Races.

How it works

You don't have to be a Formula One fan to take part and it's open to all real money players on PokerStars.
  • Simply pick a driver from the list below and post your selection in this thread.
  • Then play in the 'Whacky Race' tournament in my home game club.
  • If your finishing position in the tournament matches your chosen drivers finishing position in that weekends Formula one race I will ship you $5

Rules:

You can only pick one driver and your first selection only is counted.
Edited posts will not count and will not be considered.

Basically post what driver you choose and that's it, do not edit your post after that

The tournament in my home game club will always take place before the Formula One Race each weekend.

Divers are taken on a first come, first served basis. You cannot pick a driver thats already taken.

Winners will be shipped funds within 3 days of race ending.

For example, if you choose Fernando Alonso and finish 5th in the home game tournament you'll have to wait and see if Fernando finises 5th in the motor-race. If he does I'll ship you $5

Can I enter the tourney even though I might not show up and just blind out? I'm not sure about when I'll be back online tomorrow yet.

As I plan on winning and so does Jenson I'd better have him.

So Jenson Button for me please.

Of course Bill

I better defend my $5 bucks I guess so I'll take Fernado Alonso

BTW, if no-one wins the $5 it will roll-over to the next race and so on

Great stuff!

That's 5 out of 22 taken

There's 17 left and members have until 4pm ET (8pm UK) today to get themselves in with a chance before the tournament starts

Nico Rosberg for me please Raiser.

Third on the grid so hopefully will have a good race and come in the top ten.

Cheers

If we get twenty-two runners and all finish in the exact sequence of our chosen drivers this could get very expensive Raiser - I can't remember my probability theory but is it not likely that with two paired fields more than one will match up quite often?

You also say in a later post that 'THE $5' will roll-over if nobody wins it - but from my reading of your terms there is a potential 22 x $5 each race.

Just thought I should point this out!

We'll see Ed,

The chances of a member finishing the tournament in the exact position that their chosen driver finishes the race are slim enough but if there's a hit I'll take it

Smart guys will study the qualifying results and compare it to what runners are left above and make the best selection possible.

If no-one wins the $5 bucks in the first race it will roll-over to $10 for a 'bumper pot' for the next race and so on until we have a winner, then it starts off again at $5 bucks.

If there's a race where we have more than one $5 winner I pay both $5

If there's a race where a 'bumper pot' is shared between multiple winners I'll divide it out evenly amongst them

Legendary Ferrari boss Luca di Montezemolo fears the 2014 season will be like "taxi-cab driving"

Could be a good omen for you taxi128
