Brilliant!

You've passed the basic test and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job!

Step Two

The Poker Basics test was easy right? Well, there's a lot more to learn on the road to becoming a profitable poker player.
Now study the Cash Game course and once you think you have it mastered have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this.

Let us know as soon as you have passed the Cash Game Quiz and we will award you with your next buy-in.

Great Job!
You passed the Cash Game Quiz and know you've shown that you have a great understanding of the fundementals of playing poker. We have now credited your account with your 2nd bonus.

Step Three

Please play a 0.01/0.02 cent Real Money table at PokerStars and using the Hand Replayer post a hand here in this thread that you have questions about.

Here is a video on how to use the hand replayer.

NB: You must post a Cash Game hand only, tournament hands do not count for this promotion. You must use the Hand Replayer only to post your hand, we cannot accept hands posted in any other way.
Once you post your hand one of our Trainer will analyze it for you so please post an interestig hand where you have questions. Give as much information about the hand as possible, for example, had you any reads on your opponents?

Thank you for posting this hand for review and I have asked one of the Hand Analysers to take a look at it for you.
He will do this within the next 24 hours and once it's been analysed I will advise on the next step.

Hi Siimand,

I generally don't like to open-limp when I am the first to act. If I don't think my hand is strong enough to raise, I'd just fold. Playing passively leads to you playing pots out of position and just invites others to put you in a tough spot by raising.

Having QJo in middle position is pretty borderline, I think both folding and raising are OK, if you choose to open, I would make it the standard size of 3x the BB at $0.06.

On the flop you find yourself in a difficult spot. You have a fairly good hand, but you're out of position against someone who's indicated that they have a strong hand. You have no real way of telling if your hand is good or not. You also don't have the betting initiative.

I don't know why you made this min-bet on the flop. I would just check and call his bet and re-evaluate on the turn. This minbet doesn't achieve anything. This minbet is a play that a lot of weaker players make and stronger players will quickly pick up on this and might start targeting you in future hands, which is not what you want.

The turn play is good.

On the river again I don't know why you bet such a tiny amount. What are you trying to achieve? Either check/call, or bet a bigger amount that might still get called by worse which will give you more value. As played I would probably call his river raise like you did, but only because you have underplayed the strength of your hand.

Try not to play so passively in the future. Do more raising instead of calling and when you bet, bet bigger to apply maximum pressure on your opponent. A typical bet size is between 1/2 - 2/3 the size of the pot.

Run through the Cash Game Course on the site to help you with preflop and postflop play, including bet sizing.

Good luck for the future!
