Brilliant!

You've passed the basic test and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job!

Step Two

The Poker Basics test was easy right? Well, there's a lot more to learn on the road to becoming a profitable poker player.

Now study the Cash Game course and once you think you have it mastered have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this.

Let us know as soon as you have passed the Cash Game Quiz and we will award you with your next buy-in.

Best of Luck!

Great Job!

You passed the Cash Game Quiz and know you've shown that you have a great understanding of the fundementals of playing poker. We have now credited your account with your 2nd bonus.

Step Three

Please play a 1/2 cent Real Money table at PokerStars and using the Hand Replayer post a hand here in this thread that you have questions about.

Here is a video on how to use the hand replayer.

NB: You must post a Cash Game hand only, tournament hands do not count for this promotion. You must use the Hand Replayer only to post your hand, we cannot accept hands posted in any other way.

Once you post your hand one of our Trainers will analyze it for you so please post and intersestig hand where you have questions. Give as much information about the hand as possible, for example, had you any reads on your opponents?

I have a question about a play I made. Having quite playable hand, I decided to raise being UTG. Not sure if I should raise average hands in this position, but the flop instantly gave me the nuts. But instead of raising, I decided to check the hand, because I felt that he had very good hand, so it may be good enough to call the raise from the UTG. I was sure he had A/K, so I gave him a chance to use his better position. Still, I'm not sure if I shouldn't have made a continuation bet. Also if I should even play this hand in this position.

I would like to hear from an expert on this one, thanks in advance

Thank you for posting this hand for review and I have asked one of the Hand Analysers to take a look at it for you.

He will do this within the next 24 hours and once it's been analysed I will advise on the next step.

Hi HyperLibrari!

You were thinking along the right lines here. Q10s is too weak to play from early position at full ring. It is not strong enough to call a 3bet. Also, you run a very big risk of encountering hands such as AQ, KQ, QJ, A10, K10 that dominate you. All this plus normally be out of position, adds up to a very difficult hand to play. Folding is best. I would suggest opening with AJs+ and 1010+ from utg.

Even though this is a fold, never open limp! Anytime you are the first to enter the pot preflop, always do so with a raise - regardless of your cards! Raising can win the hand by getting folds. Also, it conceals the strength of your hand. If you always raise strong hands and limp in with marginal hands, better players will be able to take advantage of you.

As played, you flop the nuts. Checking is usually best here. Note, monotone boards scare opponents more often than they help. Our biggest concern is that the villain will not put more money in the pot. If you bet, you give the villain the chance to fold. Checking, feins weakness and lets the villain take a stab at the pot. Moreover, the board is quite safe for you with the nut flush. We don't need to bet to protect our hand. If the flop checks around, then lead out on the turn. If someone bets, you can normally raise since they have a strong hand such as two pair or top pair and a flush draw. Great result, but try to fold such marginal hands from ep in the future. They will not be profitable in the long run. You can open hands like this from middle position though.

GL and have fun at the tables!
