You've passed the basic test and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job!

Step Two

The Poker Basics test was easy right? Well, there's a lot more to learn on the road to becoming a profitable poker player.

Now study the Cash Game course and once you think you have it mastered have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this.

Let us know as soon as you have passed the Cash Game Quiz and we will award you with your next buy-in.

Best of Luck!

Thank you for posting this hand for review and I have asked one of the Hand Analysers to take a look at it for you.

He will do this within the next 24 hours and once it's been analysed I will advise on the next step.

Hi FR.Lioheart!

Here you are facing a raise and a call preflop. You are out of position in the small blind, but 88 is a great hand to play speculatively here. With speculative hands, we want to see the flop cheaply, preferably from late position and with multiple opponents. If you flop a set, you can win a big pot. If you miss, then we normally need to fold. Suited connectors, non-premium pocket pairs and Axs hands can be played speculatively.

You get to see the flop cheaply, but the flop is all overcards. This is not a spot where you want to bluff. Being out of position means you are first to act. We have no information to know if the opponents like this flop. You don't want to bet and get raised because you would then have to fold. Just check behind and hope you get to see the turn for free. If someone else bets, you should fold. You will only flop a set about 1 in 8 attempts. So, in the long run, we need to win enough one the one set hand to cover the losses of the 7 misses. Therefore it is important to not invest more than necessary.

You played the rest of the hand fine

GL and have fun at the tables!
