Brilliant!

You've passed the basic test and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job!

Step Two

The Poker Basics test was easy right? Well, there's a lot more to learn on the road to becoming a profitable poker player.

Now study the Cash Game course and once you think you have it mastered have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this.

Let us know as soon as you have passed the Cash Game Quiz and we will award you with your next buy-in.

Best of Luck!

Great Job!

You passed the Cash Game Quiz and know you've shown that you have a great understanding of the fundementals of playing poker. We have now credited your account with your 2nd bonus.

Step Three

Please play a 1/2 cent Real Money table at PokerStars and using the Hand Replayer post a hand here in this thread that you have questions about.

Here is a video on how to use the hand replayer.

NB: You must post a Cash Game hand only, tournament hands do not count for this promotion. You must use the Hand Replayer only to post your hand, we cannot accept hands posted in any other way.

Once you post your hand one of our Trainers will analyze it for you so please post and intersestig hand where you have questions. Give as much information about the hand as possible, for example, had you any reads on your opponents?

I was doing pretty well on my cash games. Upped from 2$ to 3$.
So i sat down with 1$ today and decided to play. I waited for BB and watched the game.
Mr Villain_4 was a huge preflop aggressor. Raising almost every time with hands like 89 off-suite.
And when i finally got my cards this happened... I thought he was trying to get me off my hand.

Thank you for posting this hand for review and I have asked one of the Hand Analysers to take a look at it for you.

He will do this within the next 24 hours and once it's been analysed I will advise on the next step.

Hi Cinas

When you're playing against somebody aggressive who you feel like is picking on you, it's important to try not let them emotionally affect you. If they are making your life very difficult, then you can move tables or adjust to their aggression by playing fewer and stronger hands and let them bluff off when you have a made hand.

I don't mind defending your big blind with A5s, it has a good chance to flop a very strong hand.

However I don't like your flop donk-lead, precisely for the reason that happened in the hand, if your opponent raises, you're left in a very tough spot and out of position. I would much rather just check and call, intending to also check and call the turn then deciding what to do on the river. This controls the size of the pot and allows him to keep bluffing if he wishes.

As played I'd probably just fold to the flop raise. His raise is almost committing you to the pot, which is dangerous to do with middle pair.

On the turn, you hit what turns out to be a horrible card for, that's just unlucky, I wouldn't fold to this either.

Against this opponent, try to play in position against him as much as possible, this is relatively easy for you to do as he is on your right, so you will have position on him 7 out of every 9 hands.
