lately im finding myself losing a lot to draw chasers so instead of pushing allin to try and bet them off now im just betting pot as i feel they will hit anyway and at least i will still be in

Here's a link to a BLOG that I did on bet sizes. If you bet these amounts, while the opps can chase and hit (we want them to in these situations)... they will lose chips on average to you every single time.

If a pot-sized bet is not called for, the only thing that the overbet does is to end up getting us value-owned in the long run. Tourneys are just as much about chip preservation, as they are about chip accumulation.

ok after reading your post basically what you are saying is not to even try and bet them off but to let them chase and and if they dont hit you will be rewarded but if they do you can walk away without it costing you to highly. Or am i not fully understanding it ?

You're absolutely correct. All we have to do is to make them make a -EV play (one where they expect to lose chips on average). There are too many players that won't fold, regardless of how much we bet.. so we just want them to slowly lose their chips to us.

this is a great piece of advice its amazing how many hands i have actually won playing this way, where as anywhere the cash has all gone in i have lost to the flush 8- 10 times
