Do I go all in (clearly I wont be stealing and will have go to showdown) or wait?

If the villain is loose and looking to steal the blinds at any opportunity, then moving all-in would be a good play as you might easily get it in good.

However against a normal/unknown UTG range, A8s performs very badly with only a ~33% equity. In addition you've got lots of players still to act who might have you dominated.

So I'd pass up this spot and hope to get something else that I can move all in with very quickly!

I was so card dead and blinds were getting close, so I fell in love with the hand and got very lucky.
Basically I just decided it was time to gamble.

I will definitely keep your suggestion in mind next time.
