I am fairly new at this game and have read most of the classroms. But still wondering when to lay down big pairs
AA KK QQ. i always seem to hang on to long. iI know every
game is different and I need to adjust to playing types.
just wondering if there is a common rule.

preflop-AA and KK, I would rarely lay down except for extreme circumstances like a supersat or final table where everybody decides to go all in and the money jump on the pay scale is big. QQ is a lot easier to lay down preflop to a lot of pressure, say, a raise and a reraise all in to you.

postflop-it all depends...

See the "AA Quandry" posted in the advance forum. There's a pretty good thread on this subject
