Hi Ginger,

I don't think you should fold to the flop raise, we have too much equity with a set, but reraising isn't necessarily the best option either as when the villain puts us in we will be drawing virtually all the time. And the flop min-raise is often a sign of real strength, a semi-bluffing draw or a vulnerable hand usually raises larger than this in my experience.

The min-raise also allows us to play our hand like a draw by giving us a favorable price. We have to call .70c more into a pot of 3.10, so 4.4-1 on a call. That's a pretty good price... we are 5.7-1 against the board pairing on the turn, but when it does we should easily expect to make up the difference, so with the implied odds we can profitably call. Note if we held the lone Ad we could also profitably chase the flush card. The moral of the story is to learn something from thinking about the villain's perspective... the min-raise is bad as it gives all hands that would be drawing live to beat his strong hand a fair price to chase him, and indicates he is likely not a good player.

So I wouldn't fold here, as even if I felt certain he had a flush, we have a good price to see the turn. If the villain is very aggressive with draws and more passive with made hands, then reraising looks attractive. Otherwise I'm comfortable going with a call. Since you started the hand with no reads, going off of the read at the decision point (min-raise can be a weak player tell of a monster, and the price we're being given indicates a weak player as well), I would err on the side of caution and call.

How would you see this hand against a POT ODDS calculation? Are you able to provide pot odds for both HERO and VILLAIN?
