Is this a call because I think at best I am flipping for 34BB more?

Hi adi,

Yes, I call this for sure.

Don't be quick to make assumptions like it's "at best" a flip. The c/jam flop line from the preflop raiser is quite often a move in my experience (most strong hands would simply cbet this board not risk a free card). So while we are sometimes in flip or dog situations, we'll be in a lot of good spots too, against worse draws like A8 or KdTd, and the occasional wild bluff with AJ or some such hand.

What if he has overpair to the board or set or two pair. Coz that fits hits check-jam range. As its stupid move but they sometimes do it with AA KK or set.
Against his overall range will I be ahead?

I did put some hands in equilab it says I am 54-46 fav against all the holding he can have there.

I gave him 55+,A8s,KJs-KTs,QJs,JTs,T9s,98s,A8o,98o,87o.

Equity calculator FTW.

When you explore this, I would reduce some combos of those hands as they will often c-bet the flop rather than risk a free card on such a wet board.

Changed it to: KK+,99-55,A8s,KTs+,QTs+,JTs,T9s,98s,A8o,98o,87o

Now I am 56-44 fav. Is it enough to make the call? What is the threshold for hero to make the call in these situation like if hero is more then 55% fav then its auto call for under 50BB?

On this depth I wouldn't pass any edge tbh.

And it gets even better for you when you remove stuff he probably isn't raising preflop like 98o, and some % of the set and KK+ combos as he won't c/jam those 100% of the time but would actually c-bet a fair bet imo.

You only need 40% to call so I appreciate you might want more than that because of the value of tourney life etc but the 55%ish that I also think we probably have is huuuuuuge. Also there are 8 day 1s in this tourney that may affect the edge you think you want and may very well effect villains range.
