Just wondering in regards to bet buttons and bet sizing.

When betting 1/2 pot, 2/3, 3/4 pot should we be including the rake into our sizing...

Example: Total pot is $42.85 (Pot showing on the table is $40.92 Rake is $1.93. This is at 25NL semi deep stacks.

Are we betting 2/3 pot off of the total $42.85 = $28.56 +/-0.10

Or should we bet 2/3 off of table pot $40.92 = $27.28 +/-0.10

Difference of 5.12bb

What are your thoughts? I know that the bet buttons don't include the rake for bet sizes.

Thanks!

Ive never heard anybody including rake in to bet sizings its just something else to think about i guess, i have 3x 4x 9x and pot for preflop and then i got 55% 66% 80% and pot i think for postflop.

You can click the bet bar thing once for 2.5x on BU if you didnt know, i dont know why i have a pot bet button i hardly ever use it i just bet by the texture of the board and players in the pot.

You just flick the bet bar for that.

I've never thought about the rake in my post-flop bet sizing buttons.

FWIW, this is what I use for cash games:

Pre (100BB): Min/2.5BB/3BB/10BB
Pre (250BB ante): 2.5BB/3BB/3.5BB/12BB
Postflop: 35% pot/50% pot/75% pot/Pot

When would you use the 35% bet size?

Two main uses for it:
  1. Thin value-bets like John says.
  2. C-Betting in 3Bet+ pots. Generally in 3/4Bet pots, the SPRs are much smaller so the CBets can be smaller than normal while putting significant pressure on villain's whole stack.
