Hi

I passed the Basics quiz but then realised I hadn't logged in - this May be what I did the first time as well. When I logged in it offered to save my result. Now it tells me there is a problem with my account.

Can you please advise what I need to do here ?

Thanks,
Alfa

Brilliant!

You've passed the basic test and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job!

Step Two

The Poker Basics test was easy right? Well, there's a lot more to learn on the road to becoming a profitable poker player.
Now study the Cash Game course and once you think you have it mastered have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this.

Let us know as soon as you have passed the Cash Game Quiz and we will award you with your next buy-in.

Great Job!

You passed the Cash Game Quiz and know you've shown that you have a great understanding of the fundementals of playing poker. We have now credited your account with your 2nd bonus.

Step Three

Please play a 1/2 cent Real Money table at PokerStars and using the Hand Replayer post a hand here in this thread that you have questions about.
Here is a video on how to use the hand replayer.

NB: You must post a Cash Game hand only, tournament hands do not count for this promotion. You must use the Hand Replayer only to post your hand, we cannot accept hands posted in any other way.

Hi,

I played the following hand today on a 1c2c table.

Some background:
It is a very tight table. Most pots only have two players. No-one is limping, people are betting 3BB - I think everyone has just done the course ! Everyone is playing pretty straightforwardly.
I have taken advantage of this, raising in late position with any two cards but folding if raised. A couple of players seem to have worked this out, but my opponent in this hand does not seem to be one of them. Continuation bets are also pretty successful. I have bluffed a lot on the flop, but have slowed down on the turn. I also want my opponents to think I am loose and a bluffer, otherwise they would never pay me off with my good hands.

My opponent has recently sat down, and has not been very involved so far.

On this hand, I raise in middle position with K10 unsuited. I understand this is not a great hand, but given how tight everyone is I am happy to try to steal the blinds and throw it away if I run into trouble. The flop is not much help to me; I continuation bet and he calls. At this point I suspect he has something, probably weak - possibly a flush draw or a non-top pair. The turn is another heart, completing the flush. I have the King of hearts, so if he has a flush without the ace I still have a chance. I also have a gunshot straight draw.

My question is, should I bet ? I have nothing so am behind any pairs he might have so could get him to fold these. If I do bet, what should be the size ?

Thanks,
Alfa.

Great!

We now have credited your account with your 3rd bonus and You're doing a fantastic job so far!

Now take some time and using the information you've learned so far evaluate this hand and ask yourself the following questions:

1. Was my starting hand good enough to play from this position?

2. Did I evaluate the strength of my hand postflop?

3. Was my bet-sizing correct?

When at PokerSchoolOnline you are welcome post many hands for discussion in our Hand Review Forum and we encourage you to do so. Here's a video to help you understand Cash Game poker better.

You've still got one bonus to receive.

Step Four

Attend any LIVE TRAINING session here at PokerSchoolOnline. You must actually attend the session to get your bonus.

Please let us know what Live Training session you have attended. NB It must be a live training session that takes place after this post was posted. Past live training sessions do not count.

Let us know the Date/Time and Title of the session you attend and we will check your attendance and credit you with your final bonus. If you make a deposit at this stage you will also receive your final bonus.

Hi,

I have tried to find a Live Training session at a reasonable time, however these all seem to be in the middle of the night (Sydney time). Do they ever run sessions in the Asian evening ?

Thanks,
David.
