Hi everyone, this is kind of a continuation to a previous thread. I posted a thread about beginner goals recently and got some good responses. I said that after thinking about what I wanted to achieve I would post up a goal list. So, I have been thinking and have come us with some goals that I would like to achieve.

Short Term Goals (1 month):

Get a poker HUD and learn how to configure it (FreePokerDB?)
Continue to play without making a deposit by using good bankroll management, then;
Progress to multi-tabling micro stakes as soon as bankroll is large enough

Long Term Goals (3-6-9-12 months):

Crush 2NL, consistently win on a weekly basis
Crush 5NL, consistently win on a weekly basis
Move up limits further, dependent on bankroll
Become full-time pro

Daily Goals:

Play 200 hands of 2NL
Watch poker training/advice/gameplay video
Complete daily poker diary - hands played, points earned, money gained/lost, etc..

Weekly Goals:

Play at least 1000 hands of 2NL
Post 2 hands to review on the forums
Attend a live lesson on Pokerstars/Poker School Online
Complete weekly poker diary entry

Monthly goals:

Read or reread 1 poker book
Complete monthly poker diary entry
Create graph

I will review my goals list after the first month and alter or tweak anything that needs to change. I will also aim to increase the number of hands played on a weekly basis until I get up to a large, but manageable, amount.

I may have to focus more on the weekly goals as a better measure of progress as my current full-time job may not allow me to play as much as I would like on the days that I work. But, hopefully if I focus on poker in the rest of the time that I have available I will be able to catch up to my weekly goals, even if I miss a few daily ones.

I would love some feedback on the goals that I have set. For example, are the number of hands enough? Should I be reviewing more hands? Is it possible to be a consistent winner at the micro stakes within 3 months using these goals?

What is the best way to monitor your play and results? Is FreePokerDB good enough? How can I create the graphs that I have seen people posting? Does anyone have any tips about what info I should be using in the HUD, and what info I should be monitoring about my own play?

Can anyone recommended any good poker books for beginners that I should read to get off to a good start? Can anyone recommend some good poker training videos for someone starting at the micro-stakes? I'm going to start by thoroughly reading, and rereading, the PSO material.

I'm not going to begin this schedule right away, I will wait for some feedback and perhaps change a few things if need be. Once I have a set of goals that I am completely happy with and that I know are attainable and helpful I will jump in to it.
