The Protégés have been selected, their mentor's prepared, now it's time for things to get interesting for those of us watching from the rail.

PokerStars is offering seats to some exclusive freerolls for players taking part in a new #LastLonger competition, in which you get to pick the Protégé you think will go deepest in each of the three WCOOP events they're set to play.

Teaching the proteges: Vanessa Selbst, Andre Akkari, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier and Eugene Katchalov

If you remember, The Protégé promotion set out to find four players to be taken under the wings of four members of Team PokerStars Pro - Andre Akkari, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, Vanessa Selbst and Eugene Katchalov.

Each protégé, after some personal training from their Team Pro, would then be set loose on three WCOOP events, with the protégé earning the most from these three events winning a package to the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in January. You can read up on each of the Protégés to get their stories before making your selection.

So while they have their fun, you can have yours by selecting which protégé you think will perform the best.

Here are the events they'll be playing.

Event #1: September 7, 08:00ET NL Hold'em Kick-Off, guarantee $700,000

Event #22: September 14, 11:00ET NL Hold'em [Sunday-Warm Up Special Edition], guarantee $1,000,000

Event #66: September 28, 14:30ET NL Hold'em Main Event, guarantee $40,000,000

Making your selection couldn't be easier. Simply tweet your choice - naming which Protégé you think will go deepest using one of the hashtags listed below, being sure to add your own PokerStars Player ID.

#RobLastLonger

#AllanLastLonger

#ArsenyLastLonger

#OlgaLastLonger

There will be three voting periods ahead of each of the three tournaments the protégés will play. The first of those is already open, ahead of Event #1 of WCOOP which starts this Sunday, with details of each voting period below.

Voting period 1: Votes cast between September 4, 00:00ET and September 7, 07:59ET will count for The Protégés' result in WCOOP Event #1.

Voting period 2: Votes cast between September 7, 08:00ET and September 14, 10:59ET will count for The Protégés' result in WCOOP Event #22

Voting period 3: Votes cast between September 14, 11:00ET and September 28, 14:29ET will count for The Protégés' result in WCOOP Event# 66

Andre Akkari's protege Allan Justino: #AllanLastLonger

Eugene Katchalov's protege Olga Ermolcheva: #OlgaLastLonger

If you pick the protégé who lasts longest you'll gain entry into one of three exclusive freeroll which follow the three WCOOP tournaments entered by the Protégés.

1st freeroll:
Wednesday September 10, 13:00ET

2nd freeroll: Wednesday September 17, 13:00ET

3rd freeroll: Wednesday October 1, 13:00ET

If you're still unsure which protégé to pick, and wonder which one is best placed to do well, why not ask them yourself? You can send the protégés questions ahead of WCOOP during our live Google Hangout at 14.00 ET today (Friday), using #AskTheProteges on Twitter, or in the comment section below the hangout, which you'll find by clicking here.

Vanessa Selbst's protege Robert Glenister: #RobLastLonger

ElkY's protege Arseny Shurapchikov: #ArsenyLastLonger

It's a great way to make things interesting as we discover which Protégé has been trained best, and of course which Team Pro has proven to be the best teacher.

For now good luck to everyone taking part, and while you wait to ask the Proteges about their chances, check out the T & Cs below to make sure your selection counts.

Ts & Cs:

- To enter simply tweet your choice ahead of each of the three events, making it clear which protégé you're selecting and being sure to include your own PokerStars Player ID.

- Players must have access to either the .com or .net client to be able to play

- You are allowed to vote once in each of the three voting periods, and you may change the Protege you vote for in each period.

- Only one vote can be cast per voting period. If a fan votes for more than one Protege during the same voting period, ALL votes in that period will be ineligible.

- Entrants must have a valid PokerStars Player ID to be eligible

That's a good point, I'm not sure of their screen names except Rob's which is Rob Sharona. I'll see if I can find out any of the other before the next WCOOP they play.

Rob did win the first last longer. Hopefully the freeroll tickets for those that chose him should be awarded pretty soon.

It appears instead of tickets they've gone down the auto-register route. Which is great imo.

First tourney is underway with 37 entrants and 6 places being played. Good luck to everyone involved

I think its your tweet that needs editing for the second last longer , they need your Pokerstars ID to be clear , try like this #RobLastLonger [effsea]

Hope that helps.
