Why is an open raise of 2-3x BB so standard? What does it intend to achieve with this open raise size? is it to lure people in the pot or to prevent people go in to the pot? or is it because it is hard for your opponent to guess your hand given you raise the same size with whatever hand that u decide to play

What would be the disadvantage/advantage if i open raise a non standard size of say 5BB or 10BB or whatever?

cheers!

It's to attempt to lower the number of opps in the pot while giving them incorrect odds to try to outdraw me.

If I raise less, then the opps get the right odds.

If I raise too much, I value-own myself.... fold out everything worse, get called by anything better.
